    Hands down one of the best toe up sock videos. I am a very experienced knitter but have never knitted a sock. This is great. Pretty yarn, pretty nails, nice background and soothing relaxed voice. The make one or increase that she demonstrates is my favorite now for increases period on any project. Well done.

    This is the best Judy's Magic Cast On video I have seen. I wish it was out when I was learning how to do this technique so I didn't have to watch a million videos and put all of the information together. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So glad to have found your channel!

    Incredible tutorial. This will be my first time making socks and like all newbie’s I have exhausted so many wonderful channels but I was not grasping it. I need the method that you are using. Visually and pointers like “opposites attract”! Brilliant. This video has many great features from the position of the camera, your step by step with caution notes and the confidence you extend in your calming voice. I am definitely approaching making my first sock this week! Yeah!

    Kate Atherly gives the opposite instructions for Judy's magic cast on being that the tail yarn is over the index finger and the ball yarn is over the thumb. The twist to make the first stich on the top needle is made when the tail yarn is taken from left to right around the ball yarn and then to the back and over the index finger.

I'm not sure I've got the size or length in circular needles to try this, but you've made it look so very easy and like it could be done in almost any length of circular needles.... Hi, I watched your whole video. Thank-you for helping me to understand judys magic cast on and how to start the toe. I have one question, when I have finished my first row of increases, and go to work the other needle (I think that is correct??) my working yarn is still on the other side, and I have no idea how to integrate it on the other side..I am confused about how the magic loop system works, although I currently knitting 'successfully' with it, i.e I have knitted up to the end of the first row of increases several times and always have the same problem..any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou for such a useful video

    • @KnittyNatty
      @KnittyNatty  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Jenn! Try giving the yarn an extra tug between the 1st and 2nd stitch of a new needle. So knit the first stitch, dive your needle into the second, TUG!, wrap you second stitch maintaining the tension, and then finish the second stitch. This helps me avoid ladders!

    Hi there two questions I hope you are still available to send answers please now the hard arts over after very much difficulty following tutorials I found your video the most successful to follow and I knitted my first row then my next row after the 1st normal stitch I went thru the back of the loop of rest and began my increase no mistakes at last perfect the correct direction everything my question is first was do the stitches increase the same needle every time so you will find you have 60 on the one needle and still 14 on the original knit side ??... Then when I got to very end of my first increase row following you I knit 1 knit f and back stitich knit across too the last two stitches I found my last two were twisted and instead of thinking I'd have 16 on that needle increase beginning and end 14 +2 =16 I have counted and found myself to have 17......aghhhhh you said the hard part was over ....where have I gone wrong please ?
