It’s December 2023 and I just purchased this album for myself for Christmas. Not only that but I was looking for other music to buy and could not find any I liked. Literally nothing else besides Pretty Lights and Odesza does it for me anymore.
It's criminal that this only has 100k views, or that you can't hear his discography on most streaming platforms. There was a time when he was King of his craft, headlining festivals. One of the greatest electronic artists ever is being lost to time.
I’ve been lucky enough to see Pretty Lights twice live. Both times at Hampton Coliseum, for Basslights I think. Easily two of the best experiences of my life. Something I’ll remember forever. Truly a master of their craft.
Hey man this track Is gold your right. Wanted you too Check out the kid from Brooklyn on UA-cam and watch his starbuck commercial! He mentions liquid gold and it’s absolutely himarious😜
I still remember walking home at night with this playing on my mp3 player. Trying doing this when it's foggy and there is barely anyone around. The experience is so cool (Be safe of course)
This is my preferred listening environment for Pretty Lights. Seattle, 3AM, Capitol Hill. Heavy rain that gives way to an all-encompassing mist. Waiting for the ferry, watching the engine of the city cough and sputter to life. Propelled along the gears like so many other disparate pieces of a greater whole. Connected, yet somehow still all the more alone.
@@dan7291able music has to be heavily marketed (usually) to get tens and hundreds of millions of views. People don’t understand that’s the advantage the major labels, as big corporations with deep pockets, still have over the indie artists. If no one knows your music is out there they can’t listen to it and frankly I think a lot of guys like PL rely too much on word of mouth and the festival circuit which leaves a lot of people not knowing who he is. When I moved from Denver to LA I was shocked how no one there, even other musicians who knew quite obscure music in some cases, none of them knew artists like PL or Bassnectar. I think the combo of having less than radio friendly songs that are largely instrumental and not well marketed explains a lot of the failure of great music like PL to break through in a bigger way. ...but as was said above just enjoy being one of the people who is aware of it. Half of us probably wouldn’t like it so much if it did become too mainstream.

Whatever this is.. time goes by fast one day someone is here you talk to all the time and next thing you know they are gone...
And he comes back like he never left. Better than ever.
