These are great! Going to have to give it a try. They look so real. Love your videos on all the faux goodies. Thanks so much for sharing your time and your talent.
Just a few tips: 1- Do not get the hardened finished product wet, keep indoors 2- Keep out of reach of children to keep finger nail dents out and to prevent other mishaps ;) 3- Also, keep these away from dust such as in a hutch or under your cabinets. As long as it’s a covered area, it should remain clean. * If it does get dusty, take an old used soft toothbrush and gently remove the dust.
Hi, I did make this!! And it looks so darn real . I made it pink and put a few sprinkles and a faux cherry! My sister was over and it was sitting on my table. She said to my granddaughter,Ani come eat your ice cream before it melts.. LOLOL when I told her it was faux she couldn't believe it. The one thing I did too was use a scented conditioner. I'm on the prop team for my school and also the local theatre, or rather I was (quarantine be icky 🤧) And I could not find a recipe that was low budget AND dries hard! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!! My director had me sign a contract saying I wouldn't throw them at the rude actors before he let them on stage btw- EDIT: I mix the paint for drizzels with a little bit of glue and apply it with a syringe that you use for babies and animals. I use glue so that it makes more without having to use so much paint because school budgets are not in favour of the theatre department.
Today I made this but had to use quite a bit more conditioner than called for. I made white, then kneaded in pink for strawberry and brown for chocolate swirl. It came out fantastic.
Put your piping bag in a tall cup before you add the topping---- much easier.... Would have used a ziplock bag to mix the color into it...... Overall looks like a fun project

Years ago at a craft fair I bought a faux apple pie. Inside it contained potpourri and had a lovely apple fragrance. The crust was so realistic, appeared to be baked and had the lattice looking crust. Any ideas on how to recreate this? Mine finally cracked probably due to age. I’ll never forget the 1st time my In Laws came for dinner one Sunday after I purchased it! Poor Dad thought we were having Apple Pie for dessert! I used my pale pink Depression Glass cake/pie plate to display it on... Hubby ran out for an Apple Pie shortly after dinner so his parents would actually have some! 🤗 I’ve often wished I knew how to recreate it. Thanks for the Ice Cream! {{{ HUGGZ }}} ~Su

It does for sure in 2 days. Looks like it would last pretty much forever if you didn't mess with it after you make it. I put a fake cherry syrup on mine (for a stage effect) and within a couple days it looks less like ice cream than a drop biscuit, but I'm pretty sure that's because of the moisture in the cherry sauce.
