well shatterstorm itself, a non masterpiece version, is under a dollar, but Bane of Progress has never been that cheap, that's always been an expensive card
Bane of progress, Whiptongue Hydra, and Path breaker Ibex are all a fair bit over a dollar. I'll give him a pass on the shatter storm since the non premium version is cheap, but there's not really an excuse for the others.
He did specifically say that after he built it, there was a short period that he thought was getting out of hand, so possibly those cards were added then, before he shifted to the less than a dollar rule?
have to agree with Dalakos. Having a sol ring in the command zone is really reliable ramp. Plus the equipment text; granting haste and flying to creatures that really benefit from it. My Dalakos deck has an Artificers Tribal subtheme with Heirloom Blade and Inventor's Goggles.
I want to see Atogatog (Atog tribal) I've been trying to build an Atog deck that has a semi decent win rate for a while and would love to see your take on it!!!
Chance Thomas people in my playgroup are impressed with 8 lmao. The only reason i don’t build more is that i don’t have the tools to create proper manabases for all of them...
My favorite aspect of Yugioh is the deck building and collecting various decks. I’ve never played magic before and don’t know much about the rules or intricacies of the game, but this video really makes me want to learn and start building commander decks!
Man I remember playing yugioh for the first couple of years when it came out. I stopped playing around 2005, it was a lot of fun though. I remember bringing the cards to school and playing with my friends and on the weekends we'd play at the lgs. Stuff like jinzo and yata garasu and chaos emperor dragon.. good times man
These videos are great DJ! They give myself and I’m sure many ideas that we haven’t tried and or thought of for old and new decks. Keep up the great work my friend.
I’m going to look into those commander decks on coolstuffinc as well for I have 4 nephews that may love the game and I don’t want them handling my expensive cards lol
Holy 300th episode Batman! I got into Commander through my roommate about 3 years ago. I'd been playing Magic for around 20 years prior, and was a little bored of the same formats i'd been playing for nearly two decades. Commander revitalized my love for the game, and honestly got me more into it than I've ever been. Your channel was the first Commander focused content I got into, and has been a huge inspiration for my deck construction. I now have 13 Commander decks and tons of ideas for new ones. Jumbo Commander rules, and cheers to another 300 episodes!
Tuvasa enchantress/pillowfort is my favorite deck ever, and a very unique and versatile one as well. Soooo many ways to win. It can win by flooding the board with Angel tokens (or tokens from Fable of Wolf and Owl, a fun, janky card). It can win with mill (I only run Psychic Corrosion because this deck loves drawing cards). It can win with commander damage (my version only uses Ancestral Mask, but you can add in a few more). The most common way it wins, though, is by getting Omniscience out with a couple enchantresses on board. This leads to being able to dump every enchantment in your deck onto the battlefield. It’s easy to win with Lab Man at that point, but I prefer getting Starfield of Nyx/Opalescence out to turn all my enchantments into creatures, then play Archetype of Imagination to make them unblockable and Concordant Crossroads to give them haste. It’s a very modular deck, too. You can kind of tweak it around to your preferences pretty easily. I’ll occasionally take out a couple of token producers and add in a couple more voltron pieces just for a night, and then switch it back again afterwards. Or I’ll change up which pillowfort pieces I’m using. Decklist: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/hey-man-im-just-drawing-cards/?cat=custom&sort=name&cb=1596044535 I haven’t updated the list in a bit, and I have more ramp in there than what it says- mostly land auras. Just be careful running Enchanted Evening and Opalescence together 😈
I have a Tuvasa deck and I could not agree more! Bant is my favorite three color combination, since it is just the best guild in Magic combined with blue for control 😏. Not only that, it also combines a card draw commander (the best kind of commander) with the most diverse cards in commander with enchantments. One of the most flexible three-color archetype for sure! Does not hurt that many of the cards have great art aswell (Fable of Wolf and Owl also being one of my favorites)
Simonnice Oh yeah, I run a lot of cards with great art in my list. Enchanted Evening is dope. I also run a couple of alternate art proxies in the deck - Rhystic Study and Sylvan Library, both by GreenBeanProxies. (Don’t worry, I own real copies of both of those as well. The proxies are just too gorgeous to pass up.)
I love the idea of the 15$ commander decks! Even right now getting anyone in commander can be hard when they start to see the price tags on some of the staples. My LGS has a commander tournament every Saturday (before covid). 10$ buy in, 3 rounds and the winner gets 85% of the pot. I’ve won a decent amount of times and always buy precons so when my friends to get into commander I can just have them pick one for free.
Yeah when I just got into commander and wanted my friends to get in I bought a couple precons and had them play at our lgs with them. My one friend wound up winning with one and was super happy and I just gave both my buddies those decks keep and upgrade. My one friend upgraded windgrace into omnath locus of rage and has had tons of success with it.
For Garna, I think one of the coolest things you can do with that deck is play it essentially as a combo deck revolving around sacrificing Garna in response to her trigger, letting her go to the graveyard, then resolving her ability to return her and all other creatures you put in the yard this turn to hand. It’s a super unique deck
These deck collection videos have been my favorite videos to put on while doing anything MTG related. I could watch them all day! Thanks DJ, keep it up!🐉🦖🧟♂️🧝♂️🧙♂️🧜♂️
I've made miself a budget Gisa deck that I've ungraded a lot, anyway I could, but it was not even semi competitive, and it was difficult to upgrade it without loosing the flavor of the zombie theme... I love Gisa ! I would be so happy to see him try to build that deck I've shifted from Gisa to Ayara because it was a more semi competitive deck (7-8/10) where Gisa was more a 6/10 in my opinion
Your decks all look fun and interesting! I love that you seem to go all-in with the theme of the deck, that made watching this engaging and entertaining!
Whenever I feel weird for having more Commander deck than I have chances to play, I just watch this video and feel good again :D Brewing has it's own fascination, and I find it so much more calming sitting down, going through my folders and planning it out in paper, also because I know then that I can actually play it and keep it if I like it :D
My tactic now is to have a box with just my commanders, and for every evening i get to play, I pull out 4 cards at random and those 4 decks, i take with me. The ones I play that night, I put on the side till I went through most of my decks, and then start from the beginning. Problem is, I have some favorites that I always want to take with me, but maybe this system helps decision a bit...
I love watching cEDH deck techs. I get excited to see how decks synergize and think "this is awesome! Maybe I'll build this deck." Then I look one innocent enchantment card up and see that it costs $1k+. "ah... I see..."
not a deck suggestion but I got so excited when I saw someone else has a grand calcutron EDH deck! I love the card so much and wish more people would check it out as a fun casual commander after it was errata'd to have the text "this card can be your commander."
Thanks for this really awesome video! You really inspired me to make all of my decks more unique! I sometimes feel that many of my decks have the same cards in it or ein in the same ways and that can get boring over time. But with your inspiration I can fix this problem! Also I absolutely love all your alters. So many good artworks!
You should build a partner commander deck that works together we'll, but also somehow creates a dynamic Winston draft. Something like thrasios//akiri with artifact and ramp synergies that play together, and against each other. Or like tana the bloodspwere//ravos soultender on the commander deck it'll be tokens to fuel aristocrats and in draft it'll be tokens vs like aristocrats or never die stuff. I just thought of it now, but it sounds really really cool.

I've struggled a lot to build one deck without proxies to play at my lgs because commander players can't use them there I've got 3 in total, 1 semi competitive and two cedh with I think nearly 50 proxies... Mtg costs so much, I proxy cards that are more that $ 10 because I've got a good printer and I can print directly on bulk cards at home and it looks and feel great to play A proxy costs me about $0,50 so I prefer creating them than buying them
Being a green player in heart and soul I really liked the Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant deck. Really innovative and fun idea! The new Jolrael fits perfectly in that one 😉.
I've been experimenting with "partners" that dont have the partner ability. Example; The Scorpion God and Hapatra. Lots of -1s, and draw, plus tokens:) lots of fun. Been working on Teysa(new)+Ghired. Aristocrats/Tokens. It's a lot of fun to work with. Just exciting combos that dont get to happen normally. Very very fun. Loved the video DJ!

Cool! I just updated my deck lists on Archidekt. I don't have special cards or alters (didn't really have the extra budget for them), but your alters are sooooo gorgeous!
The first 2 of this series are my favorites of all time. DJ really has similar tastes to me. Always seems like we're on the same wavelength. Well done, DJ.
You should try and build a Nicol Bolas deck with Gyruda as a companion and base the deck on playing cards from your opponents graveyards and winning through sheer value
I've a lot of commander decks also, I've recently reduced the number to 22. Some of the more interesting ones are Hakim the lore weaver, Llawan cephalid empress colour matters, Zirilan of the claw and Kogla titan ape, Mono green Kongtrol. I'd be interested to see DJ's take on any of these.
That is by far the most boring combo deck ever. Sure it has a fun named little dude at it's helm but when you think about it fblthp has nothing special going on.
A lot of fun decks! I really hope you will make a video about your ishai/tana counters deck, it looks really fun, I love it since when I've seen you play it on a mtg goldish gameplay video, super cool deck!
I haven't collected for any amount of time, but I may be interested in starting. It seems daunting to manage a collection as it grows. I only play casual commander.

You should try and build a Nicol Bolas deck with Gyruda as a companion and base the deck on playing cards from your opponents graveyards and winning through sheer value
Looking good! Nice to see your decks and it would be nice to see you again at Game Knights!
Wydwen the Biting Gale with a flash theme.
I'm really curious to see how you build Toshiro Umezawa. He's my favorite Legendary Creature.
That's a dope Sygg DJ, congrats on 300!
Running an Araumi mill/control deck currently but finally getting the card base to start making a few more decks.
Ive been waiting for this video as soon as you uploaded last years!
Please build Vito! feels like everyone is going to but, yeah! Vito!!! and congrats on 300!!! wooooooooooooo!!!!
Gratz man, and up to the next 300!
beautiful decks!!! love the mod arts; but WE WANT the gran calculatron list!!!!!
Build a fblthp deck
That is by far the most boring combo deck ever. Sure it has a fun named little dude at it's helm but when you think about it fblthp has nothing special going on.
A lot of fun decks! I really hope you will make a video about your ishai/tana counters deck, it looks really fun, I love it since when I've seen you play it on a mtg goldish gameplay video, super cool deck!
Congrats on 300 episodes. would LOVE a video on your newest bling.
I haven't collected for any amount of time, but I may be interested in starting. It seems daunting to manage a collection as it grows. I only play casual commander.
DJ, if I ever met you at a GP or Commanfest I will desperately want to play against your Grand Calculatron deck. That sounds so fun.
Thank you for the video. I will be updating a few of my decks, You provided some great ideas.
My baby is my Sydri all permanents artifact deck. It gives you some creative hoops to jump through to solve problems.
The amount of subtle art alterations in these decks. The flex is real.
I really would love to see a king macar deck! What a powerful triggered ability if you can jump through enough hoops
I LOVE the CoolStuffInc new player Commander Decks! They're cheap, fun and with just a few upgrades, they can be deadly!
can we see a Lord of Tresserhorn artifact/voltron deck
YES
Omg i love your basic, alternative art forests. Where did you get those, i want some too sooooo much
They come from artists. You can comission one or just search the internet for altered cards. They dont come cheap tho
@@velkejkoren thanks alot
@@tombarth8722 you can probably find an artist to commission over on fiverr pretty expensive though
Grismold deserves love is awsome fun to play and you should totally look at building it.
Definitely need that Grand Calcutron list. It doesn’t seem to be posted anywhere.
