Wow, finally a practical video. Was debating between Bianca and marax coming from gaggia classic pro. Marax is just perfect for a small cafe, or a big family in my case:) Never saw a need in flow control, other features Bianca offers as long as you can get consistent espresso shots. I could tell that is the case, those shots appear legit.
Hi Kabayan, thank you for making this video. I have been long contemplating about getting the Mara X and I am not really sure if it can work for a small coffee cart or pop-up but your video tells me it can! The known influencers say otherwise but judging from your video I think it can perform well for milk-based drinks. Do you experience overheating if left on for a long time for a coffee shop and what is the maximum number of back to back lattes can you do - is it limited to 4-5 doubleshots? Salamat malaking tulong po!
Wow man! Hats off to you! Really! I’ve had my Mara x not for 2 years and more and compared to you I am a complete beginner. Where do I start to explain? 😅 The work you have done into this video is really awesome and at the same time really genius 👌🏻. I will definitely copy some of your moves. I’ll have to rewatch a bit since I did not see the amount coffee in the cup… did your scale measure that? Also , since I bought this machine it has never been to “steam mode “ , I’ll have to try that . Do you know how stable the brewing temperature is during the extraction between the shots? This puts this machine to the test and is also like a challenge for the home barista ! You have not gotten yourself a new subscriber. Do you have listed your gear somewhere? I use the specialita Eureka grinder mostly cause of the design and how quiet it is… but am wondering if I should upgrade or not. I haven’t tested enough beans to know what really works. I saw another guy that have “aligned the burrs “ on his eureka when having had small issues with clumping and that did the trick. For me I think I have been too lazy to clean both the Mara and the grinder. I need to give them some love. I also use setting 0 for darker roast . Lately I’ve been getting “soupy “ pucks instead of dry. I mostly use stock basket 18gr… I have now tried to put 18,5 gr in the basket which for me have better results in extraction since the distance between the tamped coffee and the shower screen now touches slightly… before it had too much of a gap I think and therefore gave bad results. I don’t like the ridge on the stock basket. I have a 20gr vst basket that is ridge less but that needs smaller grind size which seems to be harder for my eureka depending on beans. Seems as if oily beans are harder to grind. Any recommendations on baskets etc?
Thank you for watching! Marax X v2 is 5months with me, still learning. I upgraded from Breville Barista Pro. I will try to answer all the questions: 1) The grinder is grind by time to dose around 18grams. Some times accurate, sometimes not. The best one for this exercise is a grind by weight like Eureka Mignon Libra (next project 🙂). 2) The brewing temperature should be stable on BREW priority mode but since I'm making 4 lattes, I need more steam power. I will install temperature kit soon in the group head. 3) Unfortunately I dont have a list of gears but you can ask which one you're interested. I buy as I progress. 4) For the basket, I have only tried the 18g MHW3-BOMBER and the my stock IMS basket. (comes with Mara X v2). I find the puck screen really helps a lot. By the way here's the PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/-rL220t_4Nk/v-deo.htmlsi=0FBBmIuZ6rYWhNPj

Beautiful machine, love it ❤, keep it up!. subs ☕️
When your guests as you for four cappuccinos and you are gone for half an hour :D
Do you notice any variations in shot temp with steam priority mode?
I dont have a thermometer kit yet that i can install in the group head, planning to buy soon and make another video.
Nice! How has cleaning been on the white machine? Anything different from the stainless steel one?
I know what you mean 🙂. Yes, mess is noticeable in white specially when using bottomless portafilter. I just use a damp towel, all will be fine.

What's the avg time difference in between pulling shots?
Shots are between 30-35secs. Mara X has 8-10secs pre-infusion time.
@@HomeBaristaCorner thanks, btw, what grinder and model are you using?
@@smithsmith7808 grinder is DF64E
Ok , but what is the temperature on your shots If you change the priority temp to steaming ?
In this video, im using a dark roast beans. The temp set to "O"
Fantastic job! Still slower than a cafe though, even a specialty one
Yes, they can make a latte in 2mins with commercial machines. It can steam milk in less than 20secs.
