Well spotted, pretty sure it was the 'Sparton' brand! He was a great bloke, bought quite a bit from him on eBay and he'd always put something extra in and a hand written note. Real shame he's no longer with us, bless him.
Hi Trevor, many thanks for your comment. I usually fish this as the point fly on a floating line with a 15 to 20 foot leader and have either fish it alone or with one or two unweighted flies above it on droppers. I also fish it as a single fly on an intermediate line. I find I get the majority of my takes 'on-the-drop', allowing it to drop through the water column and watching the line carefully for any movement. If there are no takes as it sinks, I usually make short pulls or a slow figure of eight retrieve. I will have a damsel fly dressing in a couple of days that is also a great catching fly.
