    Uno, Dos, Tres
    A year ago you were climbing log piles, bucking wood, splitting under a tent and stacking wood.
    What a favor your neighbor did for you.
    Very nice job, lads.

Keep cool in the coming days it’s suppose to be 100 on Wednesday & Thursday….’

    Been on my first vacation in 12 years. Wasn't much, went to eastern W. Va. for 4 days and rented a cabin at Golden Anchor cabins in Davis W. Va. great cabins, beautiful area. Mama Mia's restaurant comes highly recommended. Not many places open on Mon.- Thurs. this time of year. Beautiful scenery and parks. Blackwater falls and Senaca Rocks were awesome.

    Hello from Chicago! It's tough to really see but it doesn't look like you adjust the wedge that much even if the logs are big or small. Do you think you can cut down on the re-splits if you try to move the wedge up or down depending on what you are processing?

    • @BertsCustomCuts
      @BertsCustomCuts Рік тому +2

      In a perfect world you would sort your logs by size. The wedge is all the way down on the smaller stuff and is moved up some for the few bigger logs that were run thru.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  Рік тому

    Do you use the MB22 to split rounds by simply dropping them in front of the ram?

    • @jeanvaljohn3921
      @jeanvaljohn3921 Рік тому +2

      The cradle for the MB appears to be about shoulder height or more
      Whereas the splitter he uses is around belt height.
      I guess if he loaded up the skid steer bucket it would be doable but very precarious.
      But his splitter would use half the gas and offer much more precise splits and half the shreds and shards.
      ( imo)

    • @BertsCustomCuts
      @BertsCustomCuts Рік тому

      Adam and I did some that way a few weeks ago. Works good but would take 3 guys to make it effective not having to hop on and off tractor to bring rounds and back to run splitter. We set log table by cookie door to use as a standing platform to load blocks of wood

      A phone
      A plan and a Plan B
      Start with the A, B, and C.
      A is for airway
      B is for Bleeding and Breathing
      C is for Cervical Spine.
      A rhyme to help.
      If the face is Red, raise the head.
      If the face is pale, raise the tail.
      If the face is blue give 02.
      Here is some things to start with.
      Latex free bandaids
      TELFA pads. Non stick gauze pads of assorted sizes. Do not cut gauze pads. The little white giblets will have to be debrieded. Painful and not fun.
      Bulk pads. Kotex and tampons are an economical choice.
      Kling
      Bleed Stop
      Latex free conform roller bandage.
      Cravats. Make your own.
      Sam Splints.
      Latex free gloves. Double glove on everything and triple glove on trauma. Peel the third layer off as the bleeding is controlled.
      Eyewash kit
      Latex free tape.
      Safety scissors and not your wife's special sewing scissors.
      Any fall above 9 feet is considered trauma even if no loss of consciousness.
      Kits can be personalized for each event. Hunting, logging, fishing etc.
      A chain saw cut is different from a cut with a filet knife.
      One is a ripping and tearing action. The vessels will stretch and snap back.
      The other is a clean cut where bleeding could turn to hemmoragic shock.
      Do not be afraid to reach in and pinch off a vessel before taking a tourniquet to control a bleed. You are choosing life over limb. If you use a tourniquet, take a pen or blood and write TK on the forehead, location and the time of application. If possible apply direct pressure to pulse points to slow down the bleeding.
      A TK is never applied around the neck.
      Glucose tablets, insulin or hard candy.
      Epi pens, at least two, due to the rebound effect.
      Depending on what happened, be prepared to treat for Shock.
      A way ro remember is CHAMPS RN
      C is Cardiogenic, Cardiac
      H is Hemmoragic, Bleed
      A is Anaphalactic, Allergy
      M is Metabolic, Metabolism
      P is Psychogenic, Faint
      S is Septic, Blood Poison
      R is Respiratory, Asthma
      N is Neurogenic, Cervical Injury

    Do you carry a box cutter on your person ?
    Every single farmer around here is wearing one when working around machinery.
    Its an essential mandatory tool to cut your shirt or pant leg away when the machine starts ripping your limb off.
    If you are not thinking about safety,
    Start thinking about living without a hand arm or leg.
    Because it happens to the people here every month.
    PLEASE DONT GET COMPLACENT AROUND MACHINERY.
