Hi MotoMan, I bought my 392 Rubicon XR about 2 months ago. It is ridiculous!. I have been a performance car guy i.e. BMW M5 V-10 etc... but I would argue that the 392 Hemi Jeep is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Goes anywhere. Climbs anything. Able to jump curbs at a Jack in the Box drive-through, 0-60 in 4.2 measured. Can take the bar ditch to exit the freeway. Weekend offroading is in its wheelhouse. Straight-line performance is on par with performance sedans. I love the utility, off-road capability, and ability to keep pace with performance cars and surprise them. They don't know where the sound is coming from until after you pass them when they were thinking you were just a 7.5 sec 0-60 Rubicon. When you stomp the pedal, they are amazed to see a Jeep moving and sounding like a performance car. Wow!...just get one. If you are worried about mileage...steer clear. Get a Prius! If you want to go anywhere and spank the unsuspecting Mustang GT, this is the ultimate sleeper. 5100 lbs of lifted steel running on 35s. Uhh Uhh uhhhh! WOW!
Have one, love it. Have wheeled it everywhere, just recently from Colorado to Moab where we ran Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Gold Bar rim, and drove back home. The vehicle is a monster in all the best ways. This is coming from a guy who owned a 2016 AMG G63 (G wagon), have owned Porsches, BMW and other premium vehicles. This vehicle is worth every penny. Nothing is like the 392! PS: a lot of jeep owners are affluent and will absolutely wheel them. Some of us live in the now, resale be damned.
I have my 23' Rubicon 392 XR for just over a month now and I love it. It's a absolute blast to drive with better road manners than I expected. Mine is built to the same spec as this one, but FireCracker Red.
I bought my 392 10 months and 20,000 miles ago and daily it. I love it. It IS ridiculous and stupid and exactly the Jeep I wanted (well maybe a hellcat engine). It has character and style and it will make you smile. Love your channel. Now back to the Porsches. the 718 Spyder has been calling my name and I've watched your review enough times to quote it verbatim!
With the 392, this vehicle is the best all around, period. Rare and expensive. I would level this vehicle on resale value to Porche 911. There's Only One, Since 1941. Make America V8 again.
Oh God, I have to hide this video from my wife! She LOVES her '22 392 Wrangler in Granite Crystal (one of MY favorite colors on a Jeep), but her favorite color is purple. If she sees this, I will be toast! Great video, guys, thanks. Yeah, thanks a lot!
Wow! Saw your instagram post teasing this video, but didn’t actually think we’d get a first drive review. Great collab with TFL Truck. I can’t wait to see the comparison of this against the Bronco Raptor at the Ranch in Colorado. That is the coolest, most insane Jeep I’ve ever seen from the factory, but 90K+ADM?! I’m not sure I could justify the price point of this. I definitely wouldn’t take a nearly 100K rig over landing.
I wasn't planning on it either, as you know we don't normally feature Stellantis vehicles on the show. This vehicle was so unusual and after talking to Roman about it, thought we would make a run of it.
Nice (on-road) review! What a beast. With you standing next to it, you look like a 7/8-scale mannequin. Didn't realize Wranglers are so big these days.
Yeah, they're pretty bad, but Jeep fan boys will tell you all the anecdotal stories about how safe they are. This model with a hemi is simply a death trap.
Thank goodness something like this is out there. I’m a die hard sports car guy. Love Miata’s and have had many, but really for most people and maybe even myself, this might make more sense. The goal is to get our of what you drive with a big grin on your face. BTW - you can get these for MSRP or less now. Like most other stuff as the money printing effect is wearing off.
VERY funny timing of your comment . . . Nathan is in LA this week. He and I were able to negotiate time away from the high commissioner (his wife) so we can head to the cigar lounge this evening:)
A jeep on show?! Who are you and what did you do to MotoMan?! We haven't had a jeep in since you drove the SRT in Tejas 7 or 8 years ago! Joking aside, excellent work, M. Loved the collab with the Micas.
THIS is why you are THE man! You know to the tee the last time * and where* one of these rigs was on the show. Wasn't originally planning on shooting this rig - or the Jeep GC 4xe that is coming next week - but it was so stupid, ridiculous and wonderful all at the same time so I called in Roman and Tommy to fill in the bits they are experts on while I took the fun part of driving it.
@@MotoManTV oh stop it you, you're making blush lol. Thank you. Yeah, I see a case for not doing the snoozefest that is 4Xe, but the 392 is so silly its hard to say no.
Purple and gold are the colors of royalty. The purple felt bag with gold embroidered lettering for a bottle of crown royal?! I want mine hemi rubi in either black or metallic dark grey (not the flat nardo or battleship grey) as they both look excellent with the bronze. (To me it’s bronze not gold…especially since mopar has been calling it “brass monkey” for years now on the challenger and charger)
Yes, there are going to be exceptions in every case, like the the guy who tracks his brand new GT3 RS. However, in talking to both owners as well as a couple of dealer principles, the majority of these are going into collections.
With all due respect I feel this guy should be driving something like a Porsche or BMW, definitely not a jeep person, FYI, the 392 comes with extreme recon package or standard, he stated that this model he has has the same bead lock wheels as standard but it does not the standard wheel is half inch narrower and does come with bead lock and with 33 inch tires extreme recon package comes with 35 inch tires and these different wheels and of course 456 gears compared to standard 392 comes with 373 gears and to say no one‘s going to take these vehicles off road, everyone I know that has purchased one is a Jeep person like myself and we go off road all the time with our 392s and of course we immediately build them up I’m sure there will be a few people as collectors but again folks use this vehicle, and I feel it’s worth every dime, we’ve been wanting a V-8 for many years and finally we got it and I feel it’s the best jeep they have built, from my experience owning 14 jeeps I do feel this is the most refined funnest Jeep I’ve ever had. Thank you for your honest opinion review.
Jeep offers 470ft/lb torque in another powertrain for the Wrangler... the 4xe. Bought one a few months ago, strong off the line with the instant electric torque, gets almost double the fuel economy of the 392, and cost $30K less.
So, this has paddle shifters…that’s a little disappointing! Jeep, IMHO has the best control setup of ANY manufacturer, the volume and next/back buttons on the back side of the steering wheel is ingenious, as is most of the functionality found in a Jeep wrangler/Gladiator! This is coming from someone with a Honda, Toyotas, Porsches….I love my Jeep’s setup!
Not a Jeep or a Mopar guy, but have to agree with you in this instance. LOVE the controls on the back of the steering wheel. Also enamored of the large, chunky knobs in this application for high use functions.

one of the best sounding engines 🤘

Love it. Your in my exact jeep. Color options everything.
Correct me if I am incorrect. Isn’t the Wrangler one of the most unsafe new vehicles? In terms of crash testing
Yeah, they're pretty bad, but Jeep fan boys will tell you all the anecdotal stories about how safe they are. This model with a hemi is simply a death trap.
@@weirdshibainu booooooo
Yes, it’s unsafe for everyone around you since the open valves at wot can cause hearing damage for the unprepared or scare them into crashing. 😉
The old one was bad, this new jl generation is much better in crash tests.
Take it easy soyboy.

I low key actually like that purple.
Wonder if that's the same engine they had in my 2012 Charger SRT...6.4L, 470HP, 470 ft/lb. It was a good one...had it for ten years.
Yep same one

The price is laughable - I paid about this much for my BRAND NEW 2019 G550! 😂😂😂
Uhh, these are taken off road ask my guy @trailrecon who owns one and trails his regularly on his UA-cam channel.
Yes, there are going to be exceptions in every case, like the the guy who tracks his brand new GT3 RS. However, in talking to both owners as well as a couple of dealer principles, the majority of these are going into collections.

The 4XE is quick, but it ain't 392 quick. The 392XR runs 4 secs 0 to 60.
Get where you are going with your comparison and the 4xe powertrain is indeed interesting, but this, a totally different kettle of fish.
@@Unc0mmonSense True... The 4xe does it in about 5.5 secs. Plenty fast for a Wrangler.
I love it

No offense to the TFL guys, but the presentation quality difference is apparent. :/
ugh TFL... those guys are goofus's.

The G wagon is NOT even remotely a good comparison. Come on! The Jeep looks so cheap. Rides like crap. It’s in another league.
Garbage, fiat chrysler obviously have too much money to through out the window.
Surprised you know about the renault twingo!
Lived in Europe twice . . .
What if you have no hair to burn? Ah had to ruin it with the tfl guys.
