These Matchbox retro cars are great, I can see these being in high demand.

The Jeep casting is definitely a throw-back to the Tyco era. Tyco featured the "Cool Mud" deco in blue, orange and pink versions. Although John may not like the casting, it really hits the theme out of the ball park.

Thanks for sharing. I love the Mercedes wagon but was really disappointed when it came out without the chrome bumper. Please Mattel . We really need to have that wagon sport the chrome grill and bumper to make it more appealing.
I absolutely love the MB Mercedes Benz 120 wagons - (Wish I could get my hands on one of those exclusives) but I wish that MB would have gone the extra mile and chromed the base of these so that the front and rear details would have been in chrome. Missed opportunity to really make this casting pop - I can only hope that eventually we will get a moving parts version, or a SuperFast version available.
the land rover defender, chevy blazer, and jeep 4x4 all had those same decals back in the 80s and 90s.... theres some retro for you right there :)
Managed to get everything you’ve shown on the video today. I only skipped out on the Jeep since it looked a bit out of place. Otherwise super happy with this set.

I saw this a couple of weeks back in my local Target but hesitated to but it because I wanted to know what it actually looked like but couldn't find anyone reviewing it. Thanks for reviewing it! I was gonna but it for me and my son since we need a 2 floor playset building ( to think I was looking at buying a brand new old playset off of eBay for $80) but now since you said there is going to be a better one I'll wait and take your word. Bought the cars for myself yesterday and went back and grabbed the set for my nephew’s b-day today. The pegs were empty today, so I assume these are going quick.
There's a TON of these MBX Retros on eBay at very inflated prices. That's why the pegs are empty.

I definitely want to get the retro play set because I had those as a kid and it looks like the plastic is better then the old ones I had and I like the retro style cars and I still have some old versions of the Land Rover and Blazer.
Saw all of these minus the Mustang at my local Target. IMO, you either love or hate 'em. I left them, but I do appreciate the card art.
Oh man now they need to make a newer showroom and car wash set.
The Miura you're thinking of is the blue one from the 60th premiums.
Picked up the 3 cars and the Land Rover last week, but the Blazer and Jeep are a bit to goofy looking for me. I think they're all Target exclusive like the HW retros.
Mercedes 123 -series is such a classic car by now that I'd buy that model if I stumble upon it. I have the W123 sedan in 1/43 already :)
I cars are cool as hell but the card art is what makes it for me.
I remember that old yellow land rover. I think it was a park ranger truck too. I have one somewhere.

@@kennethriley377 I found only 1-5 at the first target I went to then the final which was the Blazer after visiting 6 other Target's of course.. I'd recommend buying the set online and save on gas

I wish they would issue everything worldwide. I’m in Australia and have to add all of these to my collection and buying everything the U.S. gets at Target or Walmart for a few dollars turns into ten dollars on eBay plus shipping.

Does anyone know if the service station will be available in the UK.
Since this one is a special release, I wish they'd at least chrome the chassis and grille of the Mercedes-Benz wagon. I'm not sure why the Mustang can get the chrome treatment but the Mercedes can't, unless putting headlight tampos onto chrome is an issue.
At least the Miura got its usual headlight and hood vent tampos. I was worried that it wouldn't since this release got side tampos.
Canada doesn't have Target but I suspect we might get at least the garage if not the retro-style cars at Canadian Tire, which seems to get some Target exclusive diecast in for the Christmas season.
@@shortyshorts1636 I did see one wave of the gold Superfast 50th Anniversary mainlines but I didn't know they were Target exclusives. Only one wave, though.

Deefer 90 scale is slightly bigger in scale.
I prefer the new HW Defender90 in terms of scale, proportions and detail.
