I find your videos constructive because you do not waste time with a lot of words. When you do generally speak you rarely talk about nothing and are not redundant. Simple, efficient and effective. Well done.
Hey buddy nice build very useful piece of equipment.I built an arch similar to yours a couple of years ago. I put the cable under the log and hook it to the top so that way it 1/2 the weight on the winch, parbuckle the log. I’m an old fart and don’t want ware out my shoulders. Thanks for sharing God bless you and yours!!
Thank you. After lifting a few heavy logs I put a pully on the cable and ran the cable back up to the arch. The pully has a hook to attach to a chain around the log. In a sense making a block and tackle like you are talking about. It does make it a lot easier. Thanks for watching. :)
The back woods alignment. It works pretty good, even for a car if you live out of town like I do you can get it close enough to get to town without eating through a set of tires. And it works perfect for something that never sees a paved road. :)
The only plans I have for this build are in the video. I didn't think about making plans because it was built out of an old trailer. Using what I had to make something I needed. Sorry. Thanks for watching. :)
The steel isn't very thick, I would say about 1/16 inch thick. So far I haven't had any reason to add any supports but a diagonal support would make it stronger. :)
Nice built log arch! Looks to be very heavy duty & compact. I modified and old propane tank trailer into a log arch works pretty good just big and gawky. Got video of it on my channel. Good looking shop you have too, loved those big doors. Nice video!
Nice rig! Don't you guys get flash blind from welding? Welding is fun i think but I seem to get flash blinded. Maybe my auto darken is not working as fast as it should. How long did it take you to complete this rig? Thanks!
I haven't had a problem with flash blindness with this helmet but I have had friends that have gotten some flash burns from other welding helmets. Maybe check the settings on your helmet. This build took about weekend to build. Thanks for watching. :)
Nice video. I have been thinking about making one myself. I have 3 questions right now. How tall is it? How wide between the tires? How long from the center point of the wheels to the hitch. Thanks for sharing this video
After I cut the axle I welded the leaf spring mount to the axle piece to give it a flat side to weld to the log arch. Hope that's what you are asking about. :)

Thats beast of a hauler
Thank you and thanks for watching. :)
Nice clean working, clean workshop and clean tractor too 🙂👍
Thank you and thanks for watching. :)
Everything is straight square and true, well made. Always fun to see experience at work.
Thank you and thanks for watching. :)
That was a cool trick with rebar .

Great build.
Thank you and thanks for watching. :)
VERY NICE Brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you and thanks for watching. :)
like that design, nice tractor too!
Thank you. I like my Ford 8N. It's not a big tractor but it works great. :)
Yep.. don't throw anything away, its always nice to go to the bone pile and make something from scratch ? Very well done, Stay warm.See Ya, Texas
I have a bad habit of not throwing anything away if it has any potential. I say bad habit because I have way to many projects to make. lol )
Just what I was looking for,I like the fab for the wheels,I'd like to make mine a bit longer with removable cross braces, over pretty cool
It would be nice if it were about 4 feet longer but I was building it with what I had. All in all it works pretty good. Thanks for watching. :)
Great idea! Should be able to haul much larger logs than just a boom pole on the 8n. Thanks for sharing!
I have seen videos of the store bought log haulers but they all seem like they're built a little thin so I figured I would make one a bit stronger. :)
thank you
Thank you for watching. :)
Mighta made things easier to leave the axle in 1 piece while positioning and welding, then cutting out the middle, save all that alignment time.
I had thought about that but the axle was a bit wider than I wanted it to be so I went ahead and cut it. Thanks for watching. :)
Nice, we really need it for our iforestclub in Japan. I like to have the construction plan. Can you make it available?

Damn. I buried the frame remains of a small camper behind a house we were redoing. I wish I had that trailer base now, I need to make a log arch.
Hahaha, that sounds like something I would do. Thanks for watching. :)
You'll get some use out of that 👍
It will be nice to not have so much dirt in the logs. :)
how thiccc is the steel and maybe you could add some diagonal supports behind the arch too?

@@KoalityofLife is that 1,6 or 2,5 millimeters? apparently there seem to be some faulty calculators on the internets :z

Thank you. I'll have to check out your log arch video, love to see what others make as much as I like to make stuff. :)

3.5 feet by 3.5 feet by 7.5 feet. Thanks for watching. :)
Thank you for getting back to me
5:13 most important part ...and most log arch vids leave out
I don't think I could build it without getting the wheels as close to parallel as possible. Thanks for watching. :)
What did you put over the cut trailer axle ?
After I cut the axle I welded the leaf spring mount to the axle piece to give it a flat side to weld to the log arch. Hope that's what you are asking about. :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍🇷🇺
Thank you. :)
