some of my favorite super structures are are the ones that are just like straight towers. you can see them on early battleships like on the japanese Fuso and Ise class battleships. they are not practical at all in ftd since theyll get blown off in a heartbeat, but they are just so funny. edit: name suggestion! keeping on your theme for naming things after animals, how about the Acutus? its the last part of the american crocodiles latin name, crocodylus acutus
wood had an rcs of three metres per block. stone has 5. alloy has 2. metal 5. heavy has 7. glass 3. rubber 1 and lead 3. so rubber has the best detection with alloy in second place, and heavy armour has the worst detection of the standard armour blocks.
ok here's a fun one. it seams that truss blocks have a radar cross section of 0m per block so I guess its the best. do with that useless knowledge as you will =)
@@Will-rv3tf they do but they are invisible in terms of calculating detection. Build a cube of trusses and it has no signature but put anything inside the cube and it has full detection as if it was on the outside. You could build a hull out of trusses and use that as armor and build all the other parts of the vehicle as small as possible.
The box is a trap when building superstructures. Instead you should try to use more organic shapes when starting with the superstructure and the looks will increase a tenfold straight away. Also remember that a superstructure can be a great place for a lams.Smokestacks can hide some vertical missile(s) etc. so you can actually turn them into more then just a big ass decorative piece. Abeit a less armored one then the rest of the vessel. That said; you are improving indeed with the superstructures :) Keep up the fun work and fun content!
I usually place 90° detection systems on two-axis turrets instead of using 360° detection systems. Although this takes more space and is more vulnerable, it costs less processing power while being more accurate than 360° detectors.
something also of note which is important for superstructures is asking yourself, assuming this were a real ship, why the design choices you would make would be made irl. this helps massively for realism builds, and I do it often myself, though doing that can be a bit of a puzzle sometimes.
I have a name suggestion: Varanus, which is the genus name of monitor lizards.

There's a hole in your front smokestack, it's very visible at 21:33
Yup, I noticed that while making the thumbnail. Cheers! 👍
another benefit to using Alloy is that it has the lowest detection of all the materials

Like that one Russian spindle tank. 😂

Have to admit i have never made a ship look realistic except when someone made a 3d scan of a real ship and i just made it functional in the game.
Name suggestion: Triton or maybe Argonton or just Argon, also maybe you can add ballast tanks to balance or lighten the ship

Love the series, thanks for all the tips an the work you put in, but oh my god, is that thing ugly hahahahahaha...

Name suggestions: Omnipotence, Competence, and Potential! They all kinda represent the ship's capabilities to do everything🤔
ah, so that's what the thing on my RAM Means, DDR4 = Delightful Death Roomba mk4
