    The only one I have is F key, quite hard to play with my small hands. I wish your channel has more viewers, great tips

      Yea, G is the typical starter flute. But if you can get a more even spread on the second pads of the fingers to cover the sound holes, you should be able to play fine. It can be a bit of a stretch to get used to though.

    Hey, thanks a lot for sharing all these tips about Xiao, this is great. Is there any possibility of making a solo/improvisation video with your favorite Xiao flute ?

    Would you say the Xiao is a difficult instrument to learn? Thanks for your vids.

      It can be challenging, but it is a very rewarding experience. I was not a wind instrument player before the xiao but it has opened many musical doors for me and now I can't go a few days without playing it.

    Is the xiao hardee to leaen than the dizi? Im having a hard time choosing haha. I like both but want the easiest route.

    • @WuDaoMusic
      @WuDaoMusic  Рік тому +1

      It depends. I feel like the initial sound may be harder with the xiao but overall the dizi is much more difficult. The membrane for dizi can also be a little tricky.

    Hello! What’s the difference between left hand a right hand ?

    • @WuDaoMusic
      @WuDaoMusic  2 роки тому

      The only difference is the position of the lowest finger hole. This hole will be positioned slightly to the left or right so that the pinky finger can reach and cover it. Most people play with the right hand on bottom, so the hole is usually positioned on the right.

    Do you know where to buy a G xiao in US ? it's hard to find a quality xiao here.

    • @WuDaoMusic
      @WuDaoMusic  Рік тому

      Unfortunately, I am not familiar with US sellers. I personally have xiao for sale and I can ship internationally though. You can see some demo videos in the Discord server (join for free through the link in the description)

      @@WuDaoMusicHello, I am also intresting to buy a Xiao.
      But Unfortunately I receive the information that the address for the Discord is invalid?
      I am from Germany.
      I bought a cheap F -Xiao from Thomann. First I thought something wrong on that Flute, because I don‘t get out any sound. Finally I needed 3 Month to become the First Tone. I don‘t know was it mainly on a lost quality of that Flute, or my beginner mistakes?
      I think both?
      Since I also play other flutes and am a musician myself, I appreciate good quality in my instruments. I also absolutely agree with your statement about bamboo. I have a bamboo flute that is twice as heavy as a comparable flute of the same length and diameter. This instrument plays almost by itself.
      I Hope there is a was to Check out your Flutes

      @@ambiencekeys5100 It sounds like it is more the xiao that is the problem. A lot of people struggle with a poor quality xiao. It can make the difficulty to entry a lot higher. Of course there are some basics things that you just may need to be aware of in producing sound. But if you are playing sound well with another flute than it is most likely the quality of the xiao that is limiting you. The Discord server is The Ways of Wudang. I will try and update the website link soon.

    Thank You my first Xiao F & G were from Amazon. I am so happy to have more info. as I've known they were not that great but I could afford them they sound fine but from what I can tell they are not that easy to play. I'm doing okay but as I progress I really want something of better quality. So Thank You so much I will check out your Discord❤🎶🕊
