- * Language Warning* Super fun two days of bluefin tuna fishing as they stormed the beach. All fish were caught on surface iron and the Shimano Coltsniper Jerkbait 170F. We were fishing United Composite 90 Wahoo's, Okuma PCH rods, Penn Torque reels, and a Calstar 6490J Rod.

Insane foamer footage! Thanks!
great video, looks like a fun workout
Awesome video man!
All your videos are dope, but that footage of the anchovy ball getting destroyed right by your boat is some of, if not the best, socal fishing footage I've ever seen. Sooooo rad.
Haha thank you!
So sick!!!!💪🙌
That’s a nice looking boil! 🤙🏼
So cool to see the Anchovie ball come to the boat! Great Video!
Top Job !
So epic!!
That UC wahoo jig stick is my go to. Great rod.
I’m more of a Del Mar guy
Nice video! Just subscribed this BFT fishing is crazy!!!
Wow..awesome catch 🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥
Awesome!
Epic fishing off that skiff. 🤙
The part where you guys are surrounded by chovie was one of the dopest things I’ve seen.
Free for all,feeding frenzy👍👍👍
My favorite fisherman Bryan Timm !!!!
literally dream of having a session like this out here... hasn't really happened like that this year yet huh?
Just a couple days - this year was way different for stuff like this. Most of it seemed really west or north
@@BryanTimm u got any vids coming up from this year?
@@thedarwinsnatchers6745 I’ve been pretty slammed with overtime so I’ve only fished 3 times since April. Ill have a few vids eventually
So rad!!!
Those were some nice casts with that surface iron!!
So gnarly foaming at the boat
Straight west from Mission Bay !
Nice fish.
Nice job on the release near the end…
A day(s) to remember 🙌🏽. We ain’t done yet.
Insane!
cool vid!
That was a good few days of beach foam
Just think if you had a sabiki rod..........I've done albacore on live chovies....I can't even imagine how epicly awesome a bluefun would be on a livebait. 100% jealous.
So effing rad!
awesome bait swirls around 15:30
Epic, last Sunday they wouldn’t touch the surface iron. We got them all on jerk bait
man thats nice i went with some buddies casted into foamers all day with bait and poppers not a single bite
yo I just had a question about the Shimano and yo Zuri jerk baits... do they have to be sinking ...or will the floating still work for bluefin ... just bought some and there all floating..
Those are the correct ones - i didnt know they made a sinking version
@@BryanTimm o ok chill .. appreciate the hit back... thanks mate 🤙🏼
At 13:00…. Is that Penn Torque 25N ?
Penn Torque 15xn2
What are your setups? Specifically what rods? Looking to get a rod that has enough tip to cast but still has backbone to pull on a bft
Great vid....killer =year in SD.
🔥🔥🔥
the chovie balll!!
Had to watch twice!
Them fish were huge! Going to need a bigger boat lol.
Freaking amazing footage bro! Who said there is no fish in Oceanside 😂
killed this one
Dopeeee
damn those fish are bigger than the boat
You ever have an issue with the reels coming loose on those Jig Sticks? How much do you like to tighten them and what clamps do you like?
Yes my reel slipped a lot since it’s so thin! I ended up using some shrink tube where i put my reel and it helped. Maybe a tiburon clamp or one of duran fishing clamps would help!
Great Video! What type of boat is that? I'm looking for a small center console that will fit in the garage.
get one of those, looks like it would fit in your pocket
Aye man what's a good versatile rod unfortunately I can only afford one set up im planning on getting a shimano torium 30 or should I get the 20?
🔥
One guy's reel looks a little light for those size fish
They might look like that but they have good line capacity. Most of them hold over 300 yards of 65lb braid which is plenty!
Super sick! What surface iron was it and color ? Thanks
Sorry man just seeing some of these comments. The surface irons we used were OCT-10 mint and blue.
Absolutely fuckin mental ⚡️⚡️
That 15:00 mark was awesome to see🤙🏼🤙🏼
Epic shit boys trying the luck tmr
How come he was guiding the line on the Tranx doesnt it have a line guide?
I think he was just holding it like that. We fish a lot of conventionals so its like instinct to hold the rod that way.
LOL those tranx must be melted, get some Saragosa’s 😂
Got a couple saltists 👍🏻
Freaking amazing !!!! How far did you go out ?
Ridiculous killing that many fish. West Coast guys for sure
We killed 3 fish relax 🤣
Stop crying man, way more ethical to fish for your self than to get it from the store
Wow, love the action. Great foamers. Congrats on the great catch.
How many pound test and were your reals single speed?
Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.
So good! Did you guys just happen upon the fish, or did you know they were out there?
Our buddies, the one’s who tripled next to us, called us while we were working and told us to get out lol.
@@BryanTimm about how far out did you guys go?
Nice fish ! What is the make and model of that skiff ?
It is made by greenough. Its called a del mar 13. Hard to find, although a mexican boat maker now has the mold and is selling the hulls for around 6-8k i think.
You're going to need a bigger boat😂
Where was this ?
What kind of boat 🚤 is that?
what type of boat does your buddy have?
So dope. I dream to do that on mine someday. Hopefully sooner than later….
What size line/backing you guys using
Typically 65lb braid to 60 flouro. Or 50lb braid to 50 flouro.
nice catch guys where are you guys fishing at?
Looks like they launched from Oceanside
What iron do you recommend when they’re on the chovies?
Honestly they will eat any size. You just have to make sure you cast into the right zone.
@@BryanTimm bro always good to have homies that can roll out and cover ground. Let me know if you ever want to mob out, fleet style
@@BryanTimm It looks like you were retrieving the iron at a fast speed. Am I right?
Dante says hi
Where are you fishing buddy what state
California. San Diego to be exact
@@BryanTimm Thank you I watching your whole video right now very nice a lot of tuna tuna bite right now hot or not
Grab some Yummy flyers and the Kite and hold on for dear life.
How far out were you guys?
Broooo…. Reel, rod, line????
if you're not getting bites first cast into bait balls, next cast let the lure sink for 5 seconds before you start reeling, lots of big fish waiting underneath for wounded sinking baitfish
Yea so a few of my buddies have told me that in the past, they let a stickbait sink out and it’ll get bit. In the thick of the moment i wasnt thinking about it aha
Is this Catalina?
What type of boat is that?
just curious, why use conventional reels instead of spinning gear? Especially if you're casting
I just got 2 spinning setups! I love em
Dinner on a spinner
It’s a west coast thing, (Southern Cal)
Few spinners can handle this size tuna. Conventional reels have a much better chance of landing these fish. BF Tuna just don't get tired. You'll probably pull a hook before landing them on a spinner.
@@stevepd1 I'd respectfully disagree. On the east coast, when we're throwing anything (jigs, stick baits, top water) its almost exclusively spinning gear. This year the jig bite has been insane in NJ and its nearly all 40-60lb bluefins. Even with yellowfins up to 70lbs
That footage is so amazing. 15 minute mark
Where do you get your tunes from when your editing?
Soundcloud. Left side filters change copyright “to use commercially” … i still choose ones with under 100 likes and i have never been hit with copyright since doing that.
@@BryanTimm dope thanks. Do you have to have a premium account or can i do that on the free version?
@@BryanTimm do I need SoundCloud+? I don’t see any left hand filters. Could be missing something tho I don’t mess around with it much
@@nyciscfishing1561 no. Just type in say “rap” and then it will pop up with results and on the left side there should be filters including copyright
@@BryanTimm many thanks
How long ago was this?
Wat kinda skiff is that ?
Kayak boys would be wetting their diapers, 😂😂👏👏😎
lol use the damn 2spd
he loves that tranx lmfao
yoo let met come out lol
