Thank you! The sleep box on the 3.0 Mini is 51” wide and 81” long, roughly the size of a full sized bed. We sleep two and a small dog but we are not as tall as you. The 3.0 has a larger bed, roughly the size of a king sized bed and would give you much more space if needed. By the way, we’ll have a new video coming out soon about the annex that attaches to this tent to create a large ground tent that can be used for a changing room, kitchen, bathroom, living room or even a guest bedroom … not all at the same time of course. 😂
@@BestLifeAdventureChannel thanks for that info! Look forward to the video! Now that you mention it, I wonder if the annex could be my dog’s bedroom! I like the mini because of the smaller footprint on the roof and the weight. I need to keep the weight down..
It absolutely could! Can’t wait to show you the video so you can see how big that thing is. Wow! We spent the weekend camping with it and we are in love … it is awesome! 👍👍👍
We absolutely lover our iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Mini roof top tent. Please check out our full review video (link in description) and be sure to get our code from the description so that you can save $200 when you buy your iKamper roof top tent. You can also see this roof top tent in action by checking out our Transamerica Trail Series and our Girls Only Overlanding Series. Again, we've provided links for these in the description. Please let us know what you think about this video and please share it with others. If you've not already done so, please subscribe to our channel. Thank you so much!
I’m so close to getting the sk mini for my mini countryman! I’m curious abt three things: 1) do you keep your upgraded mattress in the tentbox and would there be room for both mattresses and/or bedding? 2) when inside, can you actually lean against any of the walls? I often have to do some work or reading on the road, and back support would be a game changer for that. 3) have you considered or played around with the annex option at all?
Great questions! 1) We use the Hest mattresses and they are just too big to stay in the tent when closed. 2) You could lean against the back wall but it would require some work as that wall is angled. You’d have to figure something out for that. 3) We have the annex for this tent and will be making a video about it that will hopefully be out in a few weeks.
We have two different Jackery units, a 250and a 1,000. They can fit in the tent with us but there is also a small slot where you can run a power cord in so we sometimes have the Jackery in the Jeep and just the line coming into the tent.
Did you have to tighten down the most forward to the cab clamps first since it appears you can only access the channel with the extension from the very rear?
I tightened the forward ones first but you don’t have to do them in any order. You can still reach the front ones even after the rear ones are in place and tightened. So if I wanted to adjust the front ones, I can without having to do anything to the rear ones. They are completely independent. The adjustment rod has some flexibility to it.
@@jarronnorum9989 it will not close with the Hest Mattresses, but we leave all of our bedding in there. Ikamper has an upgraded mattress available as well.
Good catch! You are the first to question that. Those are spares. The clamping mechanisms have pins that are held in place by those type of locking washers. Ikamper provides a few spares just in case you were to lose one along the way. 👍😃
It isn't clear from the video if you installed the clamps closest to the cabin with the hexes facing the cabin or the tailgate, you kind of left us hanging? :)
Great video, well done. Would you recommend the 3.0 mini to someone who’s 6’5? What about two people plus a medium sized dog? Many thanks

Oh also, electronics! Do you use a power station? I have an eco flow and I’m wondering how you might manage access from inside the tent.

I want to upgrade the mattress and I think I remember seeing a video you had about upgrading the mattress. What do you use?
You are correct! We use the Hest mattress, here’s a link to their site alnk.to/cSGutPC
Does the RTT close with the mattress inside? Thank you for the response!!

We installed them facing the rear. It was easier to reach them that way. 👍
@@BestLifeAdventureChannel Thank you! I think I'm going to have the same issue when I do my installation this weekend.
The good news is that you have that option. This is SOOOO much easier than the bolt on setup that was on our previous tent … and so much faster! 👍😃
