    As an airgun shooter I knew I'd find this interesting but as a .22 springer shooter who has never shot HFT and have till now, not even really considered it , I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would ,whilst reading about it in the Magazines gives an out line and a rough picture ,but this show illustrates perfectly the interactions banter and sheer fun of the event better than any print could ever do . Thanks Gary keep up the good work , Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well .

    Hi Gary, would it be possible to do a video on the standing, kneeling and prone positions for shooting HFT and also some good tips on how to hold your gun still as I am 70 yrs old and find it very difficult to keep my gun still. Also could you explain what hamsters are and the benefits of using them. Thanks for all your videos. I enjoy watching them tremendously and have learned a lot from them as I have only been shooting air rifles for a couple of years and have a long way to go in the sport. Agains thanks Gary.

      Hi Paul, if you look in my playlist we have video's on everything you need. With regard to Hamsters, they are the adjustable bit of wood that sits under the stock on some rifles and add depth. This makes it easier to shoot the rifle prone and standing. Gary

      Hi Sam. A few years ago, the obvious pointer would have been to Quarry FTC just outside (South East) of Blackwood. Sadly now 'gone'. Otherwise, there's Nelson FTC, also adding HFT in to the mix. It's just South of - no surprise - Nelson. Worth having a look at the club finder map on Shooting-the-breeze. Not certain YT allows a link, but here goes www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=54.800054020619264%2C-1.7578120000000483&spn=9.638755%2C33.815918&t=h&z=6&mid=1IUXL4jTfcbNwbdmXxQwVOdPsJ6o

      Hi Sam, unfortunately Quarry is no more, the closet Field Target club you have is Nelson FT near Pontypridd.
      If however you are happy to travel you have two great hft clubs just over 2 hours away, these are Nomads and Furnace Mill.
      Or, get a bit of land and get a club started :-)

    What will be the best speed for a pellet in a springer( ft shooting) especially to help in windy situations?

    • @garychillingworth
      @garychillingworth 2 роки тому

      In wind, I try to be fairly fast. In .177 my favourite speed is 777fps, anything over 785 and the pellet seems to tumble.

      I was using JSB 8.44 4.51 at 11.3 foot pounds 777 feet per second in my Air Arms but have begun using QYS 8.48 which has improved my accuracy and lock time. The foot pounds has now gone to around 11.6 and 785 feet per second. 😎

    GARY: As with you, I don't ever wish to miss my fully loaded morning coffee. I've been chided by my partners for needing my caffeine. Does this effect your and my shooting skill? How do you overcome the caffeine shakes? Conundrum . . . I must have my coffee . . . can my shakes be overcome? By the by, I'm past my 75th birthday and already have too much of a natural deficit to overcome.
