A beautiful song that has been covered by many of the all time greats including Frank Sinatra and Matt Monro. My favorite cover is by Matt Monro who's 1962 version went to #10 on the British charts. Matt Monro had a beautiful voice and was considered by many to be just as talented as Frank Sinatra but never got the attention that Frank did.

I bought this song when it was released as a single on white vinyl in the late 1978 I think it was. I get what you say about the artistry between Sherrill Neilson and Elvis . But I'm sorry I find this one of those songs that are are too morbid. I love to hear songs of sadness' i.e Mama liked the roses which i love very much, Danny boy (for me) "Pushes the boundaries" But I find it in the reals of acceptability (just) and I know Elvis was a master of such stuff (and many other kinds of songs) But sorry this goes beyond for me it's just one of those songs that are too morbid.

@@ElvisLass35 Bouke Scholten will be 40 in September. He's from the Netherlands. He's primarily an Elvis Tribute Artist, but he does Tom Jones as well. He doesn't look like Elvis and he doesn't dress like him. There is no Theme From 2001. He was twice honored at Graceland. Bouke was handpicked for the 35th and 40th anniversaries of Elvis' death. He does original material in English and his own language.
He has had Glen Hardin and Joe Guercio with his band called Elvis Matters. The Sweet Inspirations and Jordanaires were on stage with him too.
