- As a followup story to the "Calf Rescue at E6" film, the four baby cows are now completely healed and strong enough to enter the adult herd of cows at The Gentle Barn. A heart warming testament to the power of love and compassion.

This calf rescue story is absolutely incredible. Ended up crying like a baby. I wish we could save all of the calves. :(

I was a meat eater and drank milk my whole life until a few days ago.
The abuse and outright cruelty to all the animals that I have seen on
video and read about just broke my heart.
Good for you, Jodie! Congratulations! I try to encourage people by suggesting that they cut down on meat and dairy in the hopes that this is something attainable for diehard meat and dairy consumers. Can you imagine the impact on the dairy and meat industries if millions of people simply limit their intake? Also, once people see how easy it is to cut down on meat, eggs, and dairy, they're more likely to make the switch to becoming vegan. : )

I was a vegetarin since 1987and I decided to become a vegan January of this year. I couln't be any happier knowing I will saving a farm animal one at a time. Thank you again and thank you to the amazing volunteers. I am from San Diego but one of these days, I will go visit the farm.

I wonder if people saw the state and condition for themselves of animals through all of the video that is now available, if they could *still* bring themselves to not only eat the fear and torment, but to also eat the sickness and barely-living-dead. Ohhhhhhhhh.

I subscribed to this channel after I saw Ellen and Portia talk about it on TEDS and I am so thankful that I was lead here. All of your videos make me tear up and put a huge smile on my face. When I see these kind of videos, I still want to have faith for human beings. The question is how few of us feel this way. I suspect that we are quite few. It remains to process this attitude so that the rest of us will achieve this level of awareness!

Haven't had milk except occasional rice milk since I was a teen. My mother never drank milk.
What do you when all your friends keep eating animals and their products yet say they hate animal abuse and cruelty. Also they refuse to watch the videos because they are too hard to watch?
Most meat doesn't even come from cruel situations, the dairy cows don't make milk if their not happy and the beef cows don't gain weight if they're not happy. So most cows are completely satisfied with their homes

I hate to say it, but that just is not true.
Dairy cows have their children taken from them right after birth, which is extremely distressing for both mother and child. They have been known to cry out for days for their calf until they lose their voice. Cows, like any other animal, form strong bonds with their children and are far from 'happy' once they are taken away from them.
In the end, regardless of how 'free range' or 'happy' these poor animals are, they are all needlessly killed decades before their natural life span.
Please make the time to watch some 'Bite Size Vegan' videos. She's done some super informal videos about the dairy and meat industry.
Caleb you are so right. Most people have no idea of the horrors that occur behind the scenes of the meat and dairy industry, fur as well... and eggs. Ugh!
they all end up at the slaughterhouse and face a terrifying brutal death. Nothing justifies that.

The most disgusting part was the fact that they had to ride in that trailer for 10 hours with no bedding except a manure covered blanket. Some straw or wood shavings should have been on the ground.
Inspiring. Trying to be 100% vegan.
We can't just say stop all dairy and meat production. It's not realistic or practical. But we can do our best to stop the CRUEL treatment of animals that is the real issue.

Why don't they focus on changing the way food animals are treated instead of trying to get everyone to go plant based?
Because if we the consumers don't eat meat or dairy products and instead eat a plant-base diet, there would be no need to slaughter animals. Resulting in horrible places like that farm to shut down.

yeah except that's completely unrealistic while enforcing animal rights laws could actually be done
+Callie Jet you're right in one aspect, laws can be set in place however, that seems highly unrealistic seeing that the government gets a little cut of the farm and agriculture industry. It ultimately comes down tolerating places like those or a cut in the government's funding.
Might as well force these people to shut down by not buying their products, hence the plant base diet.
It isn't hard to make the transition especially with vegan products that taste exactly like meat. I'd recommend you try some :)
Is this the reason milk is so inexpensive in America, less than half the cost of milk in Canada. I hope to God Canada doesn’t use the same inhumane practices, but likely do. Humans should be disgusted that they treat farm animals this way - for profit!
