Great VLOG, Rotem! I caught Teymur playing with Mike at the Flato Markham Theatre last year (funnily enough, a year ago today). Monster player - will definitely be checking out his book.
So much of what he's talking about applies to the guitar too! Of course you need to be able to play decent solo's, but people will hire you as a sideman if you make them sound good. As in- if you comp in a tasteful, rhythmic way! Lots of players overlook that, myself included. Definitely something I'm working on.
