Morgan has a new video. It’s officially the best morning of the year.
Gaaaah, you're too kind ☺️
I had just checked her channel to see if I had missed any videos. I hadn't but I was so excited this came out later that day.
It was so nice to finally meet in person and spend time together! And I love the idea of a TBR bingo card! Maybe I should mae one for my physical TBR as wel...
My 5 favourites of 2024:
- The Mountain in the Sea (sci fi)
- Berlin Monster - Nachts sind alle Mörder grau (fantasy mystery)
- Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (contemperary literary fiction)
- Mort (fantasy)
- Unmasking Autism (nonfiction)
I think I'll do a TBR bingo card too!
Ooh, I almost picked up Mountain in the Sea just now, but chose Bluets instead. This year at some point, though!
My favourite book this year was definitely Lessons in Chemistry, I highly highly recommend it. Strong female lead, well paced, vidid character voices, funny, plus an academic setting!
I’ve heard so many good things about Hamnet so finally I will put it on my list!
Also My PhD (still in progress!) is in disability history, so I love that you read Kaefer’s Feminist Queer Crip!
Yes!! Lessons in Chemistry is incredible! So well written - I laughed, I cried, I thought deeply ❤️
Great video thank you!!
Amanda Mantell's podcast Sounds like a Cult is a great light hearted listen!
Oh yaaaa, I forgot she had that podcast, I'll have to start listening!
I noticed you have reading Pet Sematary on your bingo card. I just started it.
Oh no way, how is it?! I kind of think that it would be the Stephen King that I liked if I was going to like one (of his horrors, anyway. I'm also curious to try Fairytale and a sci-fi, if you have any recs!)
@@morganeua I really like it. It is action-packed and not too long for King. My biggest problem with King is that some of his books drag on. Like when I read IT the book lost me several times. One of his longer books that I highly recommend is 11/22/63.
Why not write your own book, suggested title: Zettelkasten - A love story. On second thoughts…ummm.. maybe not
Enjoyed the video, as always. Keep up the good work.
Seriously, consider it…..perhaps start with a Substack?
I love this! I'm actually thinking of writing an ebook on the zettelkasten and how I use it! I've got a medium account, but I haven't posted in a while...
May I recommend The Lady Astronaut series? Binged them end of 2024. Eagerly waiting for the next part, coming soon
Oh wow, I've never heard of this series!! But it sounds right up my alley!
Hi I've got a quick question, and I mean no disrespect, but may i ask what positions are available for someone with a PhD. in theater studies? (Mine is in Assyriology, and other than some translation work, there are not many options other than academia) Is there a position you're working towards? Do you plan to teach? Again, no disrespect intended. I'm just curious.
Originally I did plan to teach, and I have taught at Universities in the past. My goal now is to work in theatre/arts administration - especially development/advancement/fundraising. I've started that work as I finish my PhD and academic understanding of the arts has actually made me a very desirable candidate and has helped me day-to-day on the job! It makes it easier for me to communicate the value of theatre/the arts at a deeper level to potential donors :) I don't NEED a PhD for these positions, but since I'm getting one, it does help :P
