I am legend
Oh man. Will Smith has such charisma that he elevates almost everything he is in. Some of my favorites of his film roles are in I am Legend, Men in Black, Independence Day & The Pursuit of Happyness. He was a star ever since Fresh Prince though. One of my favorite actors.
Independence Day, MIB, I am Legend, Wild Wild West and of course King Richard.
I'm so proud of Will Smith: going from a prince to a king.
A really good movie. He's definitely getting an Oscar nomination.👏
Their coach actually says that Richard made tennis fun for them. He basically didn't want to burn them out with the Juniors. The man knew what he was doing. He set the template for the sport.
Will Smith was fantastic but Aunjanue Ellis and Jon Bernthal were the big standouts and hope they are not forgotten come awards season.
One of his best performances in a long time, I’m sure he’ll win a few awards for this one. I got water eyes in a few scenes lol
I would love for will smith and Beyoncé to win Oscars. Will just made the character faceted in such a beautiful way. Beyoncé’s song really touched my heart
Loved this movie, especially Will Smith's performance which is definitely deserving of the Oscar buzz . This and Ghostbusters Afterlife are definitely going to be in my top 10 of the year and I can't wait to watch Tick, Tick Boom later today aswell for Andrew Garfield.
Best movie i’ve seen this year, period. Even better than Dune…yeah, THAT GOOD!!!

You should watch Dangal. It is a more emotionally impactful version of King Richard but instead of tennis it is about wrestling. You won’t regret it

Has Jon Bernthal ever been anything more than a sideman (Beyond The Punisher)? I feel like he hasn't. Regardless, I'm interested in this one. Seems like it'll be fine, definitely an Oscar player though. Will Smith's journey, through good and bad, continues to be fascinating to watch.

I liked the movie and all of the performances. Will stands out but I can see an acting ensemble nomination or two. Smith is a lock for his third nomination. Perhaps, 3rd time is the charm! 8/10

This movie is GREAT but I like Dangal more. Similar story but think Dangal has more heart to it.
I really enjoyed this movie. watched on hbo max because I didn't want to resist not waiting until the theater. Will Smith is amazing in this and I hope and pray he gets an oscar for this role. Me watching this came on the heels of watching the last duel. in my opinion king richard is a better movie than last duel for me. not that i didn't like the last duel unlike my friends who liked it but where a little uncomfortable with it at times. King Richard has even gotten me inspired to try out tennis as a hobby when spring comes around.

This is an awesome movie. I respect the movie and the actors.
I’d give this about a 70% at most. Yes the performances are quite strong, especially Will Smith! Yes the story is inspiring and positive! However I understand some of the negative reviews since they touch on some of the other negatives surrounding Richard Williams that is omitted and thus a bit dishonest. Especially since most people for now will only reference this as fact. And hearing some of the reviews and what may be left out turns me off a bit at least. But I understand why you liked this one more!

But the story doesn't have to be 100 percent factual. You have to judge the movie as a self contained story like Rockie not as a factual biography.
@@Scrapluv Should’ve replied to this much earlier but even though there isn’t much public knowledge about it available on the internet, part of it surrounds the other wives and kids Richard Williams had before the one with Serena and Venus. Multiple other children and other wives that most people don’t know exist since the spotlight is focussed more on Brandy’s family with this film. The most known example you can search up is Sabrina Williams. There are other things people don’t know about I can’t dive into too much but that is also the effect of biopic films like these: what they leave out is can be as big as what they put in.

@@jonathanvelazquezph.d.2719 I have seen "Tick,Tick....Boom!".I was very impressed by Andrew Garfield's performance and Lin Manuel's direction.The editing was amazing and so in sync with the musical numbers.I did not that Andrew Garfield could sing so well.I am certain he'll get an Oscar nomination for Best Actor but I think the odds are in favor of Will Smith to win.
Austin I love the movie but I was wondering the samething, Why the entire movie was focused on Venus and not both sisters🤔
Because the movie is really about Richard, and Venus' career took off first. Serena's character did have her own small arc as well though.
