- I traveled to Sapa and Hanoi in the winter, and this is what I managed to capture on my sony fx3. I Used 24mm GM and Helios 44-2 lenses for the most part. Some of the footage was just on my iPhone as well.
At times, this town felt like a cyberpunk fantasy, straight out of blade runner. I've never seen as much fog in my life.

It's not often I come by videos and watch them to the end. I really loved this! Having watched the original Blade Runner years ago and played the game on PC, this was a real high dosage of nostalgia! :)

One recommendation though: come back during spring/ summer time when the flowers start blooming and the crops are planted, avoid the central part (which is exactly where you stayed for this trip), you will not regret it.

Looks cool but I wonder how edited this is, as someone who's been to Hanoi and Sa Pa just a month ago I did see fog but it was not nearly this bad, nor were there so many lights

Yeah, I should have added a bit more grain to some of these shots to combat the banding issue

Did you even travel to the outskirts? If you're only staying in the tourist area, definitely gets boring fast.
When you shoot with iPhone do you have some kind of black mist filter to match the mood of using your Sony + filter?
No, I didn't have mist filters here at all on the sony either because it was already misty irl. But i dont like phone accessories because it defeats the purpose of shooting on a phone, especially now shooting apple log is not overly sharp.
