How much better is the Image stabilization on the G2 with the new firmware vs Old???
All I noticed was your Mark 2 lens is using lenshood of Mark I, so it's compatible right ?
comparison for 70-200 mm lens is awesome however I couldn't figure out why the in-between shots of 24-70 mm was coming in during the video. kind of odd and looks like editing went wrong.
At 6:16 we simply used another lens as a subject to show how focus breathing compares between the 70-200mm original and mark II 👍🏻
Very briefly earlier on in the video Olivia has a 24-70mm in one hand and a 70-200mm in the other as we were filming two videos that day on two different lenses.
I have a question. Many people say the aperture ring is faster to change the aperture. I've never understood this as I already have the thumb wheel set to control the aperture for all my other lenses. If I use the aperture ring, then what does the thumb wheel do?
You can still use the thumb wheel for aperture and this setting won't change unless you change it. Or you could change it to other options depending on your preference or set up for that particular scenario. Its called MARKETING... Personally, I stick to my mark 1...I go to the gym everyday so I wont complain about the weight issue. I have a specialised macro lens in my bag so again, no need for the M2 with its macro capacity...3 The Bokey is fine enough for me whether its square of octagonal. If you are a pro and can use your camera then the difference between the M1 and M2 is the same.

Thanks for the mansplaining... and weight has nothing to do with whether we're men or women. Why would anyone want to carry a heavier lens, which is less balanced? (not to mention not as sharp as the new one!)
@@WilkinsonCameras The new will always be something better than the old, usually so. However, these two lenses are very similar to each other. And the price will matter! I am for the "old" lens! It is cool, heavy, strong and there is nothing superfluous ... the diaphragm ring, these are show-offs! But this is a very personal opinion! I think you are more right! Thank you.

We probably just picked up the wrong one. B-roll is often filmed in batches with mutliple products to film in a short period of time :)

Have you compared the two side by side in the same scenario and settings? If so, we’re extremely surprised to hear that you didn’t notice the speed difference between them! Sony’s official claims are that the mark II is 4x faster to autofocus… this would be very difficult to quantify outside of very strict testing… and our channel isn’t about lens charts and laboratory style test set up. But in a real world scenario like on this shoot… we could certainly tell the difference!
