    Matt, you guys are awesome! Been using your products for over a decade now and am finally going to retire my old unit for an Elite 1500. I'm glad you made this video since it helped me chose far easier than the previous research I've done. Thanks!

    Nice to hear a little bit more about the ECUs you guys are offering, I have been chatting/emailing you guys (Fernando) in regards to my proposed build and I am looking into the wiring and control aspects of the car now.
    Two options of power plants I am considering are the SR and the 1J, Looking at your "product overview" sections under the two ECUs (1500 and 2500), both say theyy are suitable for 1-12 cylindar engines... Obviously the fuel and ignition outputs are telling but, would I be correct in thinking that the 1J would need at least a 2000/2500 ECU to run the ignition and fuel??

    Hey guys, I'm on a small island in Japan called Okinawa and unfortunately there is no dyno here to tune cars. Are there ways to look at other people's tunes so I can build a similar motor and use their tune. I want to build my 3s-Gte in my mr2 but I don't want to start dumping money if I have to street tune it and risking blowing up all my hard work a day later. I have seen you guys on mighty car mods and they have good luck with you guys, so if I can get this problem figured out, I will definitely be purchasing a ECU from you guys. Thanks in advance

    I don't know much about ECU programming and have many questions but right now I have just 2.
    1. Can you program 2 different setups in the ECU and switch in between them when needed ?
    2. Are diesel engines able to be tuned the same way as petrol engines if a programmable ECU is used?
    2.5 Would any programmable ECU work or does it have to be specifically designed for diesel?

    • @haltech
      @haltech  9 років тому

      +Gabe11801 1: Yes, certainly. This is known as “Dual mapping” so you can have a low and high power tune, or a wet weather and dry weather tune.
      2: You would need a specific diesel engine management system to control your diesel engine, currently Haltech does not offer any standalone diesel engine management.

    I have an older forester engine (2.5L NA... ) that has recently been beefed up and turbo charged and i know the stock ecu will no longer run the engine properly as many sensors have been reconfigured, a lot have just been thrown in the bin. anyways I have spent some decent coin building the engine and was wondering what ecu would be recommended for my application.. hoping to have the engine put out 300+ hp

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому +1

      Depending on functionality required, the Elite 750, Sport 2000 or Elite 2500 can all run an I6 with sequential injection and individual coils. These options will require custom wiring for installation.ua-cam.com/video/GzLiGezXshk/v-deo.html

      I was also looking at the Sprint 500 and was wondering if that would also be viable option. It meets the general requirements and is a significantly cheaper option than the Sport or Elite models. Would that work as well?

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому +1

      Yes it would, however your injectors would need to be 16ohm+, as the Sprint requires 8ohm minimum per injector driver.

    I've been a long time Haltech fan and owner, from the very first F3 to and E6S to E6K, which I still have. May be looking to upgrade, so if you can steer me in the right direction. I have a 1981 Datsun 280zx turbo coupe, L28 straight 6 with 12 injectors. 6 primary, 6 secondary (come on under boost). If you're from that time era of the F3, Corky Bell from then (now defunct) Texas Turbo fabricated the intake and installed the F3. I won't get into the long story (unless you want to PM a conversation). So now I'm running into trouble with the older software / newer operating systems of today.
    What ECU would you suggest to run a straight 6 cylinder turbocharged engine with 12 injectors?
    Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Cheers!

    • @haltech
      @haltech  8 років тому

      +waazzabi For sequential injection on both stages we would recommend Elite 2500.

      Colton Kinsey you can install it in a Cummins. You can install the Elite version with the universal harness and wire it to your engine. It can be installed to any vehicle with any engine.
      But you will need someone who knows how to tune it. And if no one has ever done it which I HIGHLY doubt then you will need a very experienced diesel tech who also knows how to tune engines to play around with yours.

    Hello, I am some what new to going deeper into car upgrading... I recently have bought a turbo car. (Have not driven yet). I'm thinking about purchasing an aftermarket ECU and just jumping into a head start in this project with performance. ( Me and my friend are going fully stock with motor to sort out any issues then going back to upgrading on a fresh start since I am new owner and know nothing about it). I have purchased a 1991 ford probe gt 2.2L F2 4cyl. Came with stock and aftermarket big turbo + lots of extra stuff... I'm guessing elite 1500 is what I need? I didnt see a plug and play option on your website under the products, but it appears boomslang makes a harness adaptor to make it essentially plug and play. which ecu would you recommend? i would like full ability to adjust fuel injector size and obviously timing.

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому +1

      I would suggest looking at the Elite 1000 for this vehicle. It will be capable of running everything in the vehicle that the standard ECU controlled, and controlling the injector size and timing is part of that. But first of all I would be talking to Boomslang to find out what ECU they made the harness to suit.

    • @haltech
      @haltech  5 років тому +1

      Your choice of ECU will depend on what you're planning to use the car for - ie whether it's going to be a daily or a competitive track car. At a minimum the Elite 550 will run the engine.
      An Elite 950 is a better choice as it offers more functionality. The Elite 1000 and Elite 1500 specifically will cover just about anything you might need but they are more expensive. It really depends on what the car is intended for. Feel free to give us a call or email - one of our tech guys will happily talk you through the selection process:)

    hi what would you suggest ECU for a supercharged Yamaha FJR 1300 injected 2010 model.

    • @haltech
      @haltech  9 років тому

      +Craig Sawyer Due to the FPR1300 having electronic throttle, you would need to use the Elite 1500 ECU. This is a universal application, stand-alone ECU that would require wiring in.

      Depending on functionality required, the Elite 750, 2000, or 2500 could be used - all will support sequential injection and direct-fire ignition. The E750 is an entry-level ECU, while the E2000 and E2500 add motorsport-level functionality and engine protection.

    I wonder if you can use the elite 1500 on Mercedes Benz M271 engine? without making the other computers read errors

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому

      It depends on which engine it is. KE engines, yes you can use an Elite 1500, but DE engines are direct injected and are not supported.Whether it throws any codes or not is more up the skill of the installer than the ECU itself, but we do not support Mercedes CAN in any way. They are the rarest engines for us to deal with and have very little demand for support of them, sorry.

    what would be the best ecu to run ITBs on a 2L 16v in a 1985 Cabrio. I'd like to run independent coilpacks and sequential injection. it would have sponge type air filters over the ITB trumpets

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому +1

      Any of our 4 cylinder ECU’s will run your engine with quad throttles no problems, you would just need to ensure the engine is fitted with a trigger type that allows direct fire and sequential injection. You can look into the Elite 550, Elite 1000 or Elite 1500 depending on your budget and functionality requirements.

    • @haltech

      Elite ECUs can be programmed for 3 cylinder engines. The issue with the MINI 1.5t would be the direct injection, which we do not currently support.

    Hi just a question in regards to the plug and play ECU for a vn-vp commodore,, I have a 3.8lt Buick v6 turbo in my lx torana all dyno tuned and setup properly and iam going to get your plug and play ECU... But what I would like to know is can you in any way transfer the tune that has been put into my delco 808 ecu to the haltech ecu or do I have to go and have it all re-tuned again for the haltech to run my motor ?????

    • @haltech
      @haltech  7 років тому

      No, sorry. The factory ECU and the Haltech are in no way compatible enough to transfer tunes. It will need to be re-tuned to suit the new ECU.

    hello haltech with the elite 1500 can i use a drive by cable throttle, so a cable throttle vs a electric one. I'm thinking of installing a haltech into a mercedes 190e 2.3 16v and doing the painful efi conversion so the ecu can read all the data rather than the old bosch ke jettronic system that would be useless and most importantly more power.

    • @haltech
      @haltech  8 років тому
