    Earlier this was Goods shed, now it has been useful for the new terminal, thankful for the then Govts during 1900s as they had reserved lands as a future vision

    Banaswadi was encroached after metre guage operation stopped and swr does not want to claim land and increase the length of platform 2 and 3.

      Nope.
      New terminal major issue is with poor connectivity
      Nearest metro station is 2kms & nearby bus stop is around 1km from terminal

    Very bad city planning. They should have planned Metro depot at the Sir MV terminal and planned for Sir MV terminal at the Bayyappanahalli Metro Terminal site. That would have been near to old Madras Road and offered connectivity like in Yeshwantpur. Now the connectivity to the current SMVT is very bad

    So they have started laying third line as part of quadrupling project? Atleast from BYPL-KJM? (Towards the end I saw new tracks that run along the main lines, hence the question)

    • @abhishekr6259
      @abhishekr6259  3 роки тому +1

      Nope.. but old tracks connecting SMVB is retained so that in future that will be used for quadrapling project

      Even I had the same question. So this platform 1C is in addition to the 7 platforms or does the 7 platforms include 1C as well? Also, for 310 meters, can it house a 24 coach train?

      @@abhishekr6259 so leaving this, we still have 7 platforms right? What about a Shatabdi like 8 to 10 coach train? Can this platform handle. I remember seeing platform 2A in Chennai Central. Though it is small, it can handle the 10 coach train
