my home Town is in Santa Ana, but since I drove to your area back in 1997, I saw a great potential in all that region going into the future, I bought vacant land in Helendale, Adelanto, Barstow, Lenwood, Yermo, pretty much all around within the 50 mile radius. One of the reasons was due to SCLA (Southern California Logistic Airport) i knew then that this development alone will bring growth to the region for next couple decades, I will probably detail more about the impact of this development and how little by little is impacting in the infrastructure along the 5, 395, 58, 40 and 247 freeways and highways including the 66 Historic Route. I know this videos is intended more specific into Barstow City, but we cannot ignored that when projects of this magnitude take place not only affects or impacts a city but an entire region. When comparing the Irvine Spectrum Project back in 1995 a 5,600 acre project has impacted not just the city of Irvine but has brought diverse developments from commercial, industrial, entertainment, residential, you name it, brought thousands of jobs and revenue to the entire region, with more than 17 million people visiting annually imagine the revenue it generates every year. Now SCLA is a much bigger more diverse project which includes; Southern California Logistics Airport is a 2,500-acre world-class aviation and air cargo facility serving international and domestic needs, plus; a Logistics Centre with 2,500-acre commercial and industrial complex entitled for 60 million square feet of diverse development, and additionally; a Rail Complex a planned 3,500-acre intermodal and multimodal rail and container storage complex with 60 million square feet of planned commercial development. Now this is aside from the new big projects already braking ground in the coming months; LAS VEGAS (April 22, 2024) - Today, Brightline West officially broke ground on the nation's first true high-speed rail system which will connect Las Vegas to Southern California. The 218-mile system will be constructed in the middle of the I-15 and is based on Brightline’s vision to connect city pairs that are too short to fly and too far to drive.....And let that alone the newest big project from BSF a.k.a ; BIG - BNSF Railway plans to invest more than $1.5 billion to construct a state-of-the-art master-planned rail facility in Southern California-and the first being developed by a Class 1 railroad. The Barstow International Gateway will be an approximately 4,500-acre new integrated rail facility on the west side of Barstow, consisting of a rail yard, intermodal facility and warehouses for transloading freight from international containers to domestic containers... there is a lot more to share but my apologies for taking so much space in your comments post, but after evaluating all of these there is no doubt that the city of Barstow and near by cities are already hitting the jackpot in the years to come. Why people are moving to other states with extreme weather? when Barstow still offers same affordability and more bearable weather than those of other extreme weather states...

Drive past it a lot on my way to Vegas from SD. It's pretty high elevation and look like your typical rural suburban town.

why? answer is simple just for starters; California has an entire ecology from; oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, deserts just name a few, while AZ doesn't even have a coastline, and look at this; (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - It's a story that's making national headlines. On January 1, 2023, about 1,000 people who live in the Rio Verde Foothills had their water supply cut off by the City of Scottsdale.Feb 22, 2023

I hear you. It's tough when a place doesn't meet our expectations or feels lacking in certain aspects. However, every place has its challenges and bright spots. Have you had a chance to explore some of the positive aspects of Barstow? Maybe we could focus on finding things to appreciate or activities to do out in Barstow.

People live in barstow for a small town feeling, and for relaxing atmosphere. To some relaxation can be depressing for others its freedom. Barstow and HD isn’t for people who like the fast life everywhere. I lived in Riverside and moved up the mountain. At first it did seem like you say but it’s something u grow to love. I can’t stand Riverside. U can find anything u want outside of your neighborhood but not the city. The train scares me to mess up this tranquility.
