  • The new Mi8 HGT conversion is here!
I'm going to talk you through it.
I'll explain the differences. I'll give you an insight in what setup changes I made with coming from the kit MI8 and changing to the HGT Conversion. I also tell you what absolutely not to do and show you the main differences.
You diced, is it for every track? I personally thing it is and will start running it from now on.

Quite a few guys here in the UK run 2.6 springs outdoors with the new HGT

Hello, would you have an insight on the effect of bulkhead flexing more as per the new shock tower? Thank you.

I've tested this with a "cut" front tower at the regular MI8. Flexing front bulkheads increases steering, mainly at midcorner (low speed).

Hi Robert, thanks for this. can you please confirm why you would use softer Springs while the shocks are more leaned in at the tower? Or are they hooked up further outside on the arms? Thanks!

Not only the angle is different the mounting posisitions are too. So indeed they are mounted more outboard on the lower arm.

I wonder if the shock towers could be purchased separate and used with the standard chassis

Technicly you could. They will fit. However this won't do your set-up any good. The HGT uses different mounting positions on the lower arms, different ball heads on the bottom side of the shock. Also has different mounting positions of the lower arms and a different chassis, but this won't affect the shock positions that much.

@@RobertKrens that makes sense, I don’t understand the geometry at your level, You confirmed it won’t compliment anything. I’m new to the Mi8. Going to test roll center and springs this week. Thank you for your response.

Yes, I do think it will work (better) on every track. Like I said in the video I'll continue using it from now on, on all the tracks during the nationals.

@@jonwalrus6470 The car has been released after the winter seison. I've not tested it indoors. However. The team used it with the carbon chassis indoors. There are some aftermarket aloy chassis at the moment (RC momo and Krazedbuilds). Schumacher will probably release one entering the indoor season.
