That strangulation felt like it went on way too long when I first watched this ep. I was so afraid they were going to kill off Ella. (Loved your comments about how it couldn't be Pete, and then cut to "Jerry" watching you and laughing at you clip. LOL!)
Oh. My. God. Lol. What a great episode - Yeah, I wasn’t sure about Pete until he was outside with Ella saying he had stuff about the case. Then I knew… Loved John’s reaction to hearing God lol. Maze, maze maze. Still needs a lot of character growth lol. A lot to like in this upcoming part of the season. A lot of experimentation as well
From where we started in the Pilot episode to now, think of all that has happened. Lucifer's journey, Chloe's journey, Dan's journey, Amenadiel, Dr. Linda Martin, Mazikeen, Ella Lopez, and Trixie all coming with the twists and turns that only Jerry can make. Forward we have more to cover, but in only 18 episodes! I know how I wanted things to progress and I was totally surprised by what Jerry had in mind. You, John and Steve, have been on and off mark, but mostly "ON!" I know how hard it is to not see a spoiler and I'm sure you've had many. Sometimes just a photo tips the scale, yet it's with the context that leads up to it that matters. We'll forge on!

I spent much of the series wondering if God would ever show up. Was that ... too tricky a character to work into the story? With this episode I was thinking 'WHOA. How is this going to work?? Is this going to be a jump the shark moment?'
I was a little bit sad that Morgan Freeman couldn't play God, because in one episode of season 2 Lucifer mentions him as he's actor in shows world - joking "And Morgan Freeman is my Dad" or something like that. I don't say this actor is bad - he's decent - but you know, for me Morgan Freeman is the God
Great reaction like always! Thanks you guys! God did talk to them at the beginning. If you remember Lucifer talking about his mom, he says that she was lovely at the beginning and then she and god started fighting when god started his new project, “humanity”. He was absent and ignorant of them. Mom started acting out for getting his attention and failed to do so. And Lucifer was the “rebellious child”, wanting his freedom of choice like humans did, so he rebelled. Part of this story actually is similar to the story of Satan in Islam. In Islam, angels had no freedom of choice, but they were innocent and “all good”. God creates humanity and gives them free choice and puts their value above the angels and orders them to bow to humans. Satan doesn’t do it and says that they’re not gonna stay “good” and pure if they have freedom, refuses to bow and then tricks eve in garden of eden to “sin”, to prove his point. He then gets cast out to hell but promises to tempt all humanity to prove to god that people can’t stay good if they have the freedom of choice. I know the story goes differently in Christianity but some parts of this story kinda looks similar to the one in Islam.
Kind of close to the Bible’s version of Lucifer, he was jealous of his fathers love of humanity and saw humans as inferior while God saw them as perfect (his sin is Pride) Lucifer thought he shouldn’t have to bow down to inferior beings as God told him and all the other angels to, eventually after the rebellion ended and he was cast out along with the other Angels that joined him he promised to show God that humans weren’t the perfect creations he claimed them to be, Lucifer does so by tempting them to commit sin to drag them down to hell with him.
