That's why I like Al Haymon because he's trying new profit models that are win/win instead of zero sum (to win, somebody has to lose out). Al Haymon wins, his fighters win, it's all good, instead of the Bob Arum who wants to win, while his fighters get their heads bashed in, lose and not get paid what they are worth. That's what is going on here.

I'm white and Al Haymon is the man. I love pretty boy Floyd disliked money may but what al haymon has done is pure genius and I seen this coming years ago. All it takes is a one smart man that isn't as greedy as the slave owner mentality of most billionaires and you can put them out of business, get all the power and keep everybody happy at the same time. Great job Al. How can anybody be upset with fighters making more money when the business is already at an all time and the owners are still making billions while three fighters starve. I'm beginning to understand what happens in boxing promotion. Rip offs. How I judge what anybody says is this, especially where boxing is concerned. If boxers kiss their promoter, I support that. If boxers begin suing their promoter and leaving the stable, there is something fishy going on. Why rip off boxers when they are the ones feeling the heat and pain? Greediness.

I'm glad to see that Al is doing what he's doing. He's helping to maximize what they make in the ring. The fighters should not have to be sacrificial lambs by taking the type of punishment they do and not get paid what they really should. Al has shown a new way and that can no longer be covered up. But what happens when all the good fighters in that stable have faced each maybe even more than once or twice? The same goes for the golden boy staple and top rank staple. All the good top boxers from those staples won't be able to fight each other. Don't get me wrong I'm all for the boxers being paid well and having a insurance and all that good stuff. But soon boxing will be bland if the good boxers from all the promoters won't face each other. Haymon basically is monopolizing the sport. Just like UFC with MMA. Hopefully this can get resolved.

If you skim a little bit off everyone and let fighters keep most of their money, everyone's happy. Promoters got too greedy and A.H. come up with a better business model. If he stays humble he'll be alright, if he gets greedy someone will replace him.
I liken Arum's approach and attitude to old-school major record companies and Haymon's to new-school indie labels. Particularly the black owned, souped up record labels like Solar, Total Experience, Beverly Glen, etc that over-work, under-pay AND steal the artists money. Beyond insatiable greed, the general consensus is keep them hungry (i.e., broke or close to it) and they'll keep coming back for their pay in favors (food, advances, loans, etc.) that'll ultimately come out the back ends (pun intended) whereas Al Haymon's model seems to not only position his fighters (clientele) closer to the cash dispensaries in the sport (network, live gate, etc.) with promoters playing more of a secondary role in than the syphon-ing middleman they're accustomed to enjoying. So old school promoters like Arum, who fought hard to outlast the likes of Don King as the emperors of theft in boxing can't stand that Haymon's innovative, integrity infused approach to fighter representation fosters loyalty beyond the reaches of the likes of Arum and now Eddie Hearn who both lag far behind the curve in meeting Haymon's competitive advantage proof being how few leave Haymon...particularly for traditional promoters especially when they've been there done that!
Bob Arum wants to lock the fighters in. Take what I give you and be happy that I gave you that much. He has become rich or richer off the backs of fighters. Without the fighters there is no show so pay them the money.

I'd love to come on your show and offer a counter argument. Are the fighters are being paid more? Yes. Is that helping the sport of boxing overall? That's debatable from an economic stand point. All about fighters getting paid but leaving out the economic factors of the sport in this argument is doing a disservice to the overall sport of boxing.
Well the major difference is that Haymon already accumulated his own wealth from his Concert Promotion so he don't NEED to lowball his fighters and try to keep the money for himself like Arum and Others. Haymon can pay his fighters well and make money off of his events in others ways and allow everybody to get paid while Arum and the other Promoters are still depending on money from the gate

The insane purses, is due to the venture capitalist and partners Haymon is associated with, like CVC capital partners and waddell and reed. There in it for the long haul, the only thing is if Haymon can't get results then eventually the money will run out. but since that is not happening anytime soon, Bob is frustrated, and his purse is going to get smaller cause he can't get away from paying those fighters small purses he used to. Risk pay the reward is what Bob is going to need to understand, his greediness is in jeopardy hence his pockets will get smaller.
