I also joined, not wanting to miss out on the fun, and with me were many others who started playing again to be able to play with friends. Now, basically everyone, even people outside of school, are playing brawl stars.
I would not say that 5v5 was the reason for the increase of players In October 2023, I remember just randomly thinking about Brawl Stars and said to my friends "You guys remember Brawl Stars?". So everyone started playing again, we made a club, we played costume matches in class and we grinded ranked. We still play every day!

Not at all, the creator didnt't told many details about added features like 11 level made the game more p2w and how gears were very expensive in the begining, and how devs reworked them entirely later. Lol I agree with both of you. This outuber did remove a lot of context tho, focusing on primarily the negative. I started playing the game again 2 weeks ago, as did all my friends, so convenient timing! The main reason I came back was Clash Royale was getting way too boring and leveling up cards in order to even stand a chance against players was too arduous. I came back around the time when brawl starts gave everyone 100 starr drops, so that kind of incentivized me to give it another shot. And the dev team I feel cares more about this game compared to the dev team for clash. Another thing is I don’t worry about losing 30 trophies if I lose a match, so progression after a loss isn’t too arduous. It’s been fun so far.
I played Brawl Stars in the early days of the game. I dropped it cause I just couldn’t get into it. I played Clash Royale and was enjoying, my roommate did, and all my friend’s from high school made a clan in the game. Clash Royale started falling off in popularity with me when they added card evolutions. It was a slow downhill from there. Later on, I was watching a TikTok about Clash Royale and a comment appeared saying Clash’s downfall has lead to a lot of Supercell fans to switch over to Brawl Stars (this was in between the start of the enchanted forest season and Doug’s release 2023). I redownloaded Brawl Stars and started playing again. I’m happy I made the decision to stay playing. It’s a fun game has layers to it, when Clash feels methodic and it feels like the same thing over and over. The Brawlers kept me playing. They’re so much fun! The unique personalities, the friendly community (there are toxic ones sure but those are going to be everywhere), and it feels like the game devs want to make this a fun game that sticks.

He explained how it got popular. The short answer is that brawl stars played their marketing stratagies well and gained attention from it through social media
I used to play brawl stars during 2020 I think? Back then when I was a kid my dad made me delete the game because it got too addicting so then I moved on and never touched brawl stars again, fast forward 2 years I saw an ad about brawl stars and thought it would be great if I were to relive my memories, so I asked my dad if I was able to get a game on my iPad, my dad obviously forgot about brawl stars so he accepted and I redownloaded brawl stars. The problem was, I missed so many free items and I moved onto other games that I didn’t get the same feeling I used to have, the fun I had playing with friends at school and meeting randoms that I would soon play with as friends (long forgotten now 😢). I decided I wouldn’t touch brawl stars again as all my friends moved on and it was just me, I didn’t feel the same so brawl stars was long forgotten from my memory. Fast forward another 2 years and I realised for some reason, all my friends started playing brawl stars again! I’m not sure why but one day a friend of mine decided to play brawl stars and his whole friend group decided to. I was in a different state so I didn’t know about him playing, but then for some reason some of my other friends decided to go back to playing too! And obviously with everyone going back to brawl stars, I decided to go back and check the game again. SADLY, I logged on 4 days after the free 100 starr drops event occurred so I got nothing 😂. But now I realised how fun the game was and ads are popping up everywhere about brawl stars funny characters like poop spike. If you listened this far then thanks for your time 👍
I never realized just how impactful their frequent balance changes have been. It’s what’s pulled me back into the game numerous times to play a brawler I didn’t really like but is suddenly strong or playing whatever is strong in the meta. Compared to clash Royale where they barely drop balance changes and hog rider, mega knight, and evo firecracker are still some of the most annoying cards ever
I didn’t hear anything about this game at my school at all but all of a sudden literally everyone in my classes are talking about it. I started playing brawl stars 3-4 years ago and got addicted to it but stopped playing after a few months but I made a new account and I’m playing again because of all the talk about it
I think the fall of clash royale caused this large spike in popularity, mainly due to p2w updates, many came to brawl stars. As the popularity rose, old players began to start playing the game again.
i used to be the sole guy in my school that still played this game, last year i formed a trio with a new kid and another guy who i found out still played, and this year everybody started playing all of a sudden
There is a lot of nostalgy in this video I subscribe and I continued to play Brawl Stars despite the boxes disappearing because I had no luck in it and it didn't work out like anyone else's but now everything is sorted for this game😅
I've been playing consistently for a while. My school had an "outbreak" of sorts, where almost everyone (2200 people) play pretty often, including teachers
I started in 2019, stopped, and came back 2 weeks ago. Nothing specific even brought me back, but when I did, suddenly everyone else around me at school coincidentally did as well, primarily during class. The CCTV videos helped keep me hooked on the game though, not sure why
Every winter break, my siblings and I redownload Brawl Stars and play for the whole 2 weeks. Usually, we stop playing after winter break since we have to focus on school, but this year, we didn’t delete it. Instead, my younger sister showed Brawl Stars to her entire friend group, leading her friends’ friends to play and so forth, starting a whole chain reaction in all the grades. They literally play on the bus now…It’s crazy to see it’s popularity again. People are always amazed that I have 20k+ trophies, but I’ve just had the account for so long 😂
I've been playing on and off since 2017 and I'm top 100 in my country. I had a long period of like a few years or something where i didn't play, and i for sure thought the game was lost after the removal of boxes. But for me the Masteries update was so incredibly important. It gave a reason to play and something to flex. Half of the time i play the game it's to get a title. And also many of the new updates are just crazy good, i love this game😍
I started back in 2018, around a week after global release. I remember playing for around 2 or so years, and then eventually quitting during 2020, around the same time you said it started to decrease in popularity. Then, I randomly started playing again in 2023 and still going hard now, since everyone around me started playing as well. Now, pretty much my entire school plays the game, and it's popularity is higher than I've seen it in 2018.
idek why i started playing again. no one mentioned it, nothing in my mind was giving me a reason. I just suddenly remembered the game and was eager to play again
I love brawl stars more than my family., thank you for making this educative video which has really educated me more on the comeback of my favourite mobile game, Brawl stars.
it also became popular in my school, back then, only me and another guy played brawl stars, but then, some ppl decided it was a cool game and tried it, we all then kept playing together, and other kids in our school also started downloading the game, it was so fun, whenever a 5v5 mode was on, we'd all gather to play, i think this is sort of a chain reaction
i feel like the popularity mainly went up when boxes were removed. It was a nice change of pace after the staleness or season 9-14,which was when i stopped playing brawl stars. tons of f2p stuff were released like credits, masteries and bling which were probably the peak of brawl stars but not enough monetization. of course, they added something for it which were hypercharges which, i think are actually a good part of the game. they also were smart on which hypercharges they wanted to release. they gave it to some of the most loved and popolar brawlers and also the new brawlers for something for players to look up to so now in the state of brawl stars, the game is actually better than when boxes were in the game. most of you are just blinded by the nostalgia of boxes and the adrenaline rush that it gave you when the numbers were glowing. for me, i kind of agree about boxes since gold were easier to get but comparing it with starr drops, they were a lot less well recieved but still better than boxes (controversial opinion) and yes i think that brawl stars was at its peak at season 19 where the meta was just fun to be in and i had the time of my life during season 19 anyways i quit typing
The level of production in this video is amazing and the fact that you don’t have a minimum of one million subscribers is mind boggling, keep up the amazing work.
I used to be addicted to this in 2020-2021 and the start of 2022 and rhen gir bored and stopped playing. Recently, some people at school mentioned it as a joke about the 2020-2022 years, it then we actually got into it again and i have been having a lot of fun
I think the reason is: starrs aligned. I left the game some three years ago due to addiction. Now I just returned for no reason. And the game is nicer: you can direct the brawler you want to maximize first, and the brawler you want to pick first.
My school went through some phases of the boys all playing a video game and the 2nd biggest stage was Clash Royale. Now everyone at my school, boys and girls, are playing Brawl Stars with my friend followed shortly after by me being the first to start playing it which got the attention of others to get the game or get back into it.
I noticed this game was popping off too! Been playing since 2018 and just a couple days ago I’ve realized some people at my school started playing the game
I think that the 100 star drops brought everyone together and opening them at school with all your friends started it, after that we started loving the game again and grinding the new ranks and since we are all older now we could pay for the brawl pass and play even more
I first started playing Brawl Stars around the time Rosa came out. I didn't play too much and then basically stopped playing it. One of the reason I enjoy the gane so much now is that there are so many things, like New maps brawlers, and gameplay mechanics. Also brawlers are way easier to get, I've been playing again since christmas and already gotten ≈10 new ones. Old Brawl was way too simple and needed a lot of work
I graduated in 2022 from 8th grade to 12th grade all I did was play brawl stars. It’s Unfortunate that back then no one played brawl stars except my best friend. Would’ve been cool to build a clan and 1v1 everyone
Did I forget anything? Let me know 🐻
U said supercharges, it’s hypercharges
Maybe that at the start you said it regained popolarity in 2023 when it actually happened in 2020?
u forgot the additionn of powerplay and power league i think but im not sure
You forgot the removal of chroma credits and chromatic brawlers

I started playing brawl stars 3-4 years ago and got addicted to it but stopped playing after a few months but I made a new account and I’m playing again because of all the talk about it
criminally underrated
1:41 made me cry of nostalgia
I think the fall of clash royale caused this large spike in popularity, mainly due to p2w updates, many came to brawl stars. As the popularity rose, old players began to start playing the game again.
Now you need to make a video about how the UA-cam algorithm is making this video blow up; great vid!
My school is 99% addicted to brawl stars
Crazy quality and even more crazily underrated. Keep it up!! Glad this video is blowing up❤
Everyone in my school started to play it
i used to be the sole guy in my school that still played this game, last year i formed a trio with a new kid and another guy who i found out still played, and this year everybody started playing all of a sudden
everyone started randomly playing this game after 3 years. i have no idea what happened
I randomly just came back to this game a few days ago after 2000 days 😂 been loving it
Same lmao
Next generation gromio 😂
just started playing brawl stars again after 2 years, and i love it!
The really reason is the decline In clash royal leading to school kids looking for another game to play
Exactly. CR was getting worse and worse so most people that played just made the switch
Glad to see someone talking about this.
EVERYONE in my school is playing it.
The only reason why I started bs again is because my girlfriend played it so I redownloaded it to start it up again
Bro, im an og brawl stars player, so happy to see my fav game back into business
Brawl stars did not get famouse bcs of 5v5 evryone just randomly started playing it agein
For real
There is a lot of nostalgy in this video I subscribe and I continued to play Brawl Stars despite the boxes disappearing because I had no luck in it and it didn't work out like anyone else's but now everything is sorted for this game😅
Cause it became. tiktok trend
2 years ago, they were calling me a kid when I was playing Brawl Stars. Now, they are glued to that game.
Nice video! Where did you get those transitions from the intro?
Every winter break, my siblings and I redownload Brawl Stars and play for the whole 2 weeks. Usually, we stop playing after winter break since we have to focus on school, but this year, we didn’t delete it. Instead, my younger sister showed Brawl Stars to her entire friend group, leading her friends’ friends to play and so forth, starting a whole chain reaction in all the grades. They literally play on the bus now…It’s crazy to see it’s popularity again. People are always amazed that I have 20k+ trophies, but I’ve just had the account for so long 😂
Underrated.Remember me when you get popular
Now, pretty much my entire school plays the game, and it's popularity is higher than I've seen it in 2018.
this masterpiece is not getting as much views as it should be getting.
as someone who didnt play brawl stars when everyone around me was during 2018-2019, even i started to play recently
THIS CHANNEL IS SO UNDERRATED
idek why i started playing again. no one mentioned it, nothing in my mind was giving me a reason. I just suddenly remembered the game and was eager to play again
I love brawl stars more than my family., thank you for making this educative video which has really educated me more on the comeback of my favourite mobile game, Brawl stars.
this video is so good you deserve more likes and subs
it also became popular in my school, back then, only me and another guy played brawl stars, but then, some ppl decided it was a cool game and tried it, we all then kept playing together, and other kids in our school also started downloading the game, it was so fun, whenever a 5v5 mode was on, we'd all gather to play, i think this is sort of a chain reaction
I got a brawl Stars ad when I clicked on this ☠️
Bro me too lol
i feel like the popularity mainly went up when boxes were removed.
You're about to grow a'lot this video was really enticing
I think the reason is: starrs aligned. I left the game some three years ago due to addiction. Now I just returned for no reason. And the game is nicer: you can direct the brawler you want to maximize first, and the brawler you want to pick first.
My school went through some phases of the boys all playing a video game and the 2nd biggest stage was Clash Royale. Now everyone at my school, boys and girls, are playing Brawl Stars with my friend followed shortly after by me being the first to start playing it which got the attention of others to get the game or get back into it.
My entire school for some reason:
"Hmm, now would be a great time to make brawl stars super popular again for no reason at all."
I noticed this game was popping off too! Been playing since 2018 and just a couple days ago I’ve realized some people at my school started playing the game
I think that the 100 star drops brought everyone together and opening them at school with all your friends started it, after that we started loving the game again and grinding the new ranks and since we are all older now we could pay for the brawl pass and play even more
immediately realised the lemmino's cipher theme! great video!
Old Brawl was way too simple and needed a lot of work
This makes me think about that one old account I had on my tablet with Leon and crow in 2019
It looks like the algorithm has found about your channel!Last time I saw you you had 600 subscribers!Keep making more❤❤
I saw my friend playing it, thought about it, then saw everyone else playing it, played it, and its lowkey one of my favorite games now
Crazy video idk looks like a new channel but with much potential.
I graduated in 2022 from 8th grade to 12th grade all I did was play brawl stars. It’s Unfortunate that back then no one played brawl stars except my best friend. Would’ve been cool to build a clan and 1v1 everyone
Every clip is correlated so well with what you said GG bro sick video
This video better than Netflix documentary for some reason
