Sure was more stable when she Had him, but he wasn't stable. She thought she had a solid place, but that was only until he screwed everything up cuz he didn't want to get a regular job and commit.

Yup. Season 5 Jimmy was written terribly. I’ll never understand why when Fiona was beating him up outside the diner, why he didn’t just tell her the entire truth with Estefania and her father. That would have solved almost every issue right then and there
People forget this show talks about toxic people you can't change.
Mike was the best boyfriend she ever had. He had a stable job, he was honest, and his family welcomed her with open arms (too much in Robbie's case). The only downside was Fiona got bored of Mike because he wasn't chaotic enough.

why didn't he tell her the reason he didn't call was because the dude took his phone and threw it into the marina right before he was FORCED to get on the boat. He had no choice but to not call.

Made his money illegally. The stuff he did tell her was harder to explain than the fact that he got forced onto a boat by these unhappy criminal partners of his, had his phone chucked into the water, and his last request before getting onto the boat was to MAKE A PHONE CALL TO FIONA. If he had just told her that, I think she'd have understood HOWEVER this is the reason I think he didn't tell her:
He knew she was pissed and although it explains it it doesn't make it better. If he's in THAT kind of danger, being with him would also by extension put her in similar danger, and beyond that she didn't know how to differentiate the lies between the truth anymore. In fact, we find out from his female business partner one of the last things he says to her is ALSO a lie. He said he opted out of the job in Dubai or whatever to be with her. We find out from the girl that he was actually fired from that job.
If he did it would’ve saved the whole situation.. if he just told her..

Not trying to be mean, cause I don't judge a book by it's cover, but she has an odd taste in men, in real life. She seems to dig nerdy guys. Her ex husband looks like a geeky dude, and she was way out of his league. Her husband now, and father of her child, is also super nerdy looking. He was also the writer of the show Mr. Robot. Which is about a computer hacker if Im not mistaken. But, I respect her for not seeming to be super cocky, or conceded.

steve was the only one who truly saw all of her and loved her anyways. he did everything right for her. except letting her go. he was selfish to come back into her life and taunt her into kissing him and having sex with him again when he knew she was married. when he knew how it would make her feel later. i feel like steve was selfless in every aspect except for in wanting fiona. sometimes his lust for fiona came in the way of caring about what’s best for her.
Michael would’ve been the best man she could’ve had. If she didn’t fuck up by pursuing his brother they would’ve been good.

4:32 makes me wanna sobbb, the way he says he loves her too is so gentle and pure and i know everyone thinks they were toxic but whenever he was gone she was at a lower point in her life, he kept her on her toes in a way that was way better than the drug and alcohol abuse that she endured later and all the relationship trauma after, he could have saved her from all of that and i knew on her wedding day with Sean she thought about Jimmy and when she found out about Ford’s wife she thought about Jimmy. they were perfect together and i like to think she tracked him down and that’s where she went after she left chicago

They had such an opportunity when he came back to get them back together and do it right this time. The writers just shit all over this pairing when he returned. The old Jimmy would've fought for her instead of leaving. I watched the show until it ended but this was really where it stopped being great for me.
I hate what the writer's did to his character. Season was mostly taken from the first season of the original UK Shameless. The one large difference was Fiona left with Steve at the end of the season and never returned. They knew Steve was coming back but it often felt like his character was in completely different show. Season 1 Steve often was shocked and/or judgmental about how they got money and the next season he was a son-in-law to a drug lord? S1 Steve would never do some of the things he did in the later seasons, it was sometimes hard to watch.
(Fun fact: The UK Steve was played by James McAvoy.)
Yes I'm also very angry with the authors....I know that American authors have a kind of allergy to love stories with happy endings-it happens here, in SHAMELESS with fiona, it happens in GREY'S ANATOMY, it happens in GILMORE GIRLS....
maybe they have some kind of "romeo and juliet" syndrome that causes them to write that couples end badly in the end.... it's a systematic thing

same, you can't introduce a character in the first episode as a love interest and then write him out like an insignificant side character. The show wasn't the same without him. He was an OG and the show doesnt work without the ogs, thats why everyone stopped watching the office when michael left

It just went to shit after he was gone. I had no interest in it. I never went back and watched it either. I saw some of what happened on line, but never cared enough to watch the rest of the show.
Same. I could’ve lived with Jimmy-Steve leaving at the end of Season 3 because the story telling was great and it was a bittersweet send off. But the show ruined his character AND the relationship with Fiona in just two episodes of Season 5. Like why would you give us that hopeful tease at the end of Season 4 with Jimmy if you were just gonna write him off within two episodes? Makes zero sense.

He didn't love her at all. She was a back-up plan to him. He treated her like an option and I can't believe he's surprised that she moved on and got married and more that she's angry. After all that shit he told her about wanting to be with her and want her to come with him and that's how he treats her. She deserves better.

When did he ever treat her like an option? It’s pretty obvious that he was super inlove with her but she didn’t want to leave her family behind js to be with him. Also he was FORCED to leave twice.

yeah, i guess that explains why he waited for her at the airport, hatched an insanely illegal and complicated plot to bring an illegal immigrant to the country just so he could leave his Brazilian model of a wife to live in the ghetto with 6-8 kids, he downgraded his entire lifestyle and completely changed himself to be with her, doesnt sound like something you would do for your sidepiece. and he leaves forcibly for 1 year against his will and gets absolutely flamed. If he hadnt made his appearance i would comfortably say he deserved better than her
