You should have installed bifacial solar panels on the pole. In that way you'll be generating power from their other sides or back as well. That should also help with melting snow from the front.

They were not an option from my supplier. Thanks for your comments.

Don't clean these panels quite often. Scratches will damage the efficiency in the long run.

Can they be placed totally vertical when it is snowing? Can you move them a bit remotely/automaticly to shake off the snow?

I leave them vertical all winter, unless it's a grey week of no snow when I would often tip the panel up to the clouds.

@@solarscoobyd7629 Aha, that's indeed a good idea in a snow rich location.
In general I guess vertical panels are great because they deliver relative good in wintertime where you need the energy the most.

How much reflected light from snow increases power production versus no snow?

This is called the albedo effect and it's hard to measure except with equipement or calculating it theoretically. I am guessing that a good snow clean cover can boost production by over 20% on a sunny day.

@@solarscoobyd7629 Idea for next video - experiment. In sunny day cover snow in front of solar panels with dark balnkets/t-shirts and use data from inverter to compare how big power differences before and after. That kind of video will go viral =)

@@rapolasmasaitis9824 I did a video about the Albedo effect. ua-cam.com/video/CAxxdfd4KHM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SolarScoobyD
