- Hearing so many rooms and systems, few really impress me in a way that makes me turn away from my endgame headphone systems to loudspeaker world.
However, the combination of Weiss DAC and Woo W23 Pre with both my solid state and tube hybrid power amps have challenged my listening habit. On top of that, this setup even influenced my sound perception and preference for my headphone systems in return.
Awesome system I have been looking at a Weiss Dac . I have a $800 Dmp-a6 stearmer dac with magnepans speaker . Do you think I’ll notice a big difference on Dac performance by going with Weiss?
The caveats of Weiss is power, if you add our line stage and OCC silver cabling, it will outperform everything
@@hifix-man319First of all, thank you very much for the great content! In the specific context of full-range loudspeakers with 100db+ sensitivity, would you think that the addition of a pre-amplifier would still be necessary with the Weiss? Have you already evaluated the dsp capabilities of the Weiss (e.g. room/creative equalizers)? Finally, have you noticed any differences between the RCA and XLR outputs? Thanks in advance for your time.
@@vincenzouli3478 I don’t use these features
Thats some sweet gear. How does the Mojo Mystique compare to the Weiss in your room/setup? Which did u prefer amd why?
Weiss for every single reason
@@hifix-man319 Fascinating! Curious, did u also prefer the Weiss 501 over the Emm Labs DA2 in your space?
@@shawnkhan2901 believe it or not, yes in all my systems for both loudspeakers and headphones.
@@hifix-man319 I've got one of Ed Meitner's older Bitstream DACs with all the latest upgrades from John over at Museatex. It doesn't have the widest or deepest soundstage but it's the most lifelike and realistic digital source I've heard thus far. I am interested in trying out a Weiss in my room, that's likely next on my audition list.
In general, for speaker systems the most important factors are: room acoustic, speakers, then amp, ... DAC is relatively not as important. For that, need Wilson speakers ($370K) for a good reference system.
Everything matters and it doesn’t need 370K to tell the difference of source at all, which is one of the typical false belief and incorrect “common sense” in this hobby.
