- Now that we know what's wrong with the amp, let's fix it.
This video outlines removal of the board, replacement of the defective class a amplifier transistor, feed resistor and electrolytic capacitors
I never had much luck with ordinary solder wick, until I tried chemwick. Saw it in the background of one of your vids. Thanks for the tip!
Great troubleshooting and amp repair journey! Looking forward to the next video; this Fisher is breathing again.
Man my new 2000uf 65v caps look so dinky in my 210. We need to return to ridiculously sized capacitors
Love your videos. Why is there a Bridge Rectum-fryer on your dim bulb current limiting apparatus?
Used it for various crude DC supply purposes limited to 100w. Arcy sparky crusty cleaning contacts job
I've also used it for measuring DC leakage through capacitors
HA! not wanting to waste anything, I am struggling with 35+ year old desoldering braid that I have, trying to get it working better with adding some liquid no-clean flux. After checking Chemwick products for sale on one suppliers site, they list a "24 month shelf life" from date of manufacture, which makes sense as the copper braid, even with some flux content, will oxidize and be less effective at wicking up solder. I'm guessing its time to order some branny new stuff , especially for PCB work, and maybe relegate the older braid to terminal strip work where excessive heat / dwell time with the iron isn't as critical. Thanks for sharing the info!
I'm sure you caught this but those 2 small grey caps were 4uF not 1uf.
Great job on the repair, thanks for sharing
Trev...you and Jordan have the best channels for investigation and troubleshooting.

@@Poppinwheeeeellllllieeeeez Thanks but maybe you'll change your mind after you see this weeks video, lol
Well done I'm glad that it's working and the slight error with the driver didn't kill anything :-D
Hmm pico fuses, very neat.
I always enjoy your comments while you repair things, you include the audience in your repairs :-D
Meeeee toooooooo.... But not always and I'm getting better. Keep at it and enjoy!
I enjoy watching the repair video you are working on
thank!
Dear sir I have few OC81D Ge transistors. I would like to build a fuzz face pedal. Instead of guitars I would like to give some audio inputs and see how much it can perform. If you have any schematic regarding the OC81D please share it sir thankyou.
Shake it up is the Title track.

Nice ... LIKE and SUB!
Solid information .... love this!
I did indeed enjoy, very much---nice work! But this machine still has some mysteries to unravel, so onward to part III!
Ditto on chem wik was always the best. Accept no substitutes !
LFOD !
Thanks, enjoyed that very much and looking forward to the preamp and phono EQ board. How hot do you generally run your iron?
Bout 850f
@@JordanPier I will be upping mine, thanks!
I Buy Burnzomatic Solder From Home Depot
Those exzacto Knives Work Good.
Nice that they didn't just wire wrap the board in
I was going to say how awesome that wick was. How hot is your iron?
Way to "push" through! Enjoyed watching, thanks.
