Thank you so much, Bucky. I always love watching your tutorials. They're easy to follow and in-depth. This tutorial was made FOUR YEARS ago and it still helps!
Thank you!!! I plan on watching all of your tutorials on Windows Command Line, but wanted to comment immediately about this video! It cleared up confusing I was having with basic operations and resolved a lot of grief I was experiencing while trying to get Yolov3 image detecting software working.
This guy must really know how to make the most out of every single second in his life! 😂 NOTHING SHALL GO TO WASTE! I wonder how he spends his time on the toilet... Even taking a shit must be an epic adventure, filled with exciting thrills and heroic glories! 💩🦸♂️🧚♀️🦄🦖🧙♂️🐉👑🏆 🤣😂 ...😌... 😐 No, I'm an adult. Technically.
Looks hard at the beginning, but easy to learn. They did not even teach me at Community College in CIS/IT class. Now I gotta learn it by myself on UA-cam tutorials. You explained it in an easier and simpler way as it can get. Thanks.
I just wanted to say thank you so much. I needed to figure out pretty much the most basic of things in the command prompt: How to change directories. This video explained it simply and quickly, thank you.
You should try this, from c:\Users\*your name*, execute the cd . . twice, it should back to something like c:\windows\system\, from that point, execute the command "tree", just tree, don't need the " mark. What you will see is going to make you feel like The Fxcking Chosen One. But then close the cmd, don't mess around in that directory.
It looks even better if you change the text colour to green. Type; *color 2* If you click on the little icon (top-left hand corner of cmd prompt), go to properties, you can customise it more easily there. I prefer the limey green "255", color 2 is a bit dark.
Thanks bro now i can use the command prompt for fun (yes i will watch the other tutorials) Its cool that the command prompt lets you experience ways of the old computers
Thank you. Great tutorial. Great focus on what is needed. Going forward... I am here because I want to understand better how to compile my c++ programs. You know, to work directly with cmd mainly.
Another way to open command line is press [ "windows" + "r" ] then type "cmd", then you won't have to type cmd every time (because run remembers the last command you used)
I just subscribed. I hope you make a lot more videos because your presentation was very clear and easy to listen to and see. I'm just learning how to develop a website in joomla and also working with XAMPP so probably have to deal with the command line from time to time, even if not looking forward to it :) Keep up the good work.
Hey man, just wanted to say I came across your channel and you're a saint. I'm currently taking my test for my CompTIA A + network + and security + and this was a great refresher for me. Thanks man I appreciate it.

Could you do this series over again and mention every command's equivalent in PowerShell? Or maybe put the PowerShell command for what you're showing in subtitles? That would be amazing
Nice serrie Bucky, I love to see where it is going. I think you would not lose any viewers if your using color 0A or 03, I think it is easyer to read. I hope you also get into the harder stuf, like browsing by the command prompt.
Command Prompt is a command line interpreter application available in most Windows operating systems. Command Prompt is used to execute entered commands. Most of those commands are used to automate tasks via scripts and batch files, perform advanced administrative functions, and troubleshoot and solve certain kinds of Windows issues. Command Prompt is officially called Windows Command Processor but is also sometimes called the command shell or cmd prompt, or even referred to by its filename cmd.exe.
thank you! Especially for explaining the basics like - why do we use the command line at all having beautiful Windows GUI. That has always been my point agains the tool. Very helpful for understanding.
Wow... I didn't know about the Tab shortcut! :D I'm gonna build a pedal on the ground that sends the Tab command to the cmd-window, so I don't have to reach for the key on the keyboard when typing ^^ And set up my webcam to recognize facial-expressions, so it automatically undo's anything I recently typed if I look angry xD
using cd ../.. to fall back two folders was new for me. cd\ to fall back onto the drive path directly, no matter how many folders are parenting your current folder. thanks
