Deserved Nerf but should've only affected Monti and not other Shield ops because Monti got more out of the new shield rework than others; the purpose behind making the shield rework was to make them more mobile and defensive so slowing ads makes sense to reduce their aggression but it's only needed for Monti

I honestly, apart from for Fuze, preferred old shields, sure, there a quality of life changes that came with the rework, but I feel blitz and Monty have lost their distinctiveness from one another and in addition to that, I feel now blitz has been neutered of the offensive and aggressive capabilities he was specifically designed for. Btw was playing blitz and Monty for over a year as my two most picked ops / mains prior to the shield rework.

Since there are still so many bugs with the shield, I think that nerf isn't needed rn.That just makes Monti more unplayable. More like they should fix things like the ability, especially with Cav, to punch through shields and instakill a Monti. I really love to play him and I like the rework, but all the bugs that are existing rn are ruining the fun.
No they should make it even slower. Monty is already broke. On a completely average player. It’s not like pistol are weak in R6. A character that can completely walk up to someone with 0 danger to them self. Impacts are already nerfed against him. Then he can shield bash you, gun you down and there is nothing you can do about it lying on the ground. Your only option is to melee him and even then he just has to turn and prospect him self.

So much for that promise of transparency.
Had a feeling shields were gonna be super strong in gunfights when they announced that the laser sight is gonna give an ads boost instead of a hip-fire accuracy boost. This change is probably just gonna revert it prior to that stat change.
Honestly, it isn't super strong because most people keep the sight on your head since we can't hipfire anymore. Since ads speed got slower for everyone, it REALLY hurt shields the most.
Aiming isn't the problem against good shield characters, it's the melee range and strong ability to cover distance. You need a C4 to counter montange, Bliz is easy to counter. Montagne needs his speed when going in and out of full shield to be reduced to actually balance him.
I think its just a bug since they were having other issues with the testing servers, but we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

So let’s get this straight, shields have had a nerfed ads speed for how many seasons? We’ve basically had to re aim behind cover and now they’re nerfing it again… ffs do they just not want shields to have any sort of chance at making plays? They could’ve just added a bit of a movement speed penalty when sprinting or made the suppression mechanic activate after less shots and buffed ads speed.

I was literally inspired to start bring Montagne because of the videos you put up. I never imagined myself using a shield op, but it's been fun. It doesn't look much faster at all, fortunately
honestly, if this is intentional it felt inevitable. We had this dance before, shields aimed too quickly which made them incredibly frustrating to go up against so they nerfed the ads speed. And my first thought when trying new shields was that they felt extremely snappy, to a point at which i already expected them to go "wait, didn't we have this situation before?"

Kudos, it is sad that the favorite operator is destroyed, like me, my favorite operator was the old Recruit, which was deleted, and also the consulate or shield of the Alibi operator, which was deleted, but I request you to only use Montage as a funny operator.
