But if you want to actually address what he's saying that's different. he never once bad mouthed being emotional or being rational nor did he imply either was a bad thing. I think he didn't explaint it well. I think he was talking about studies that appeared on the news years ago, that studied the parts of the brain that people activate. They say men TEND to be better at maths and spatial memory while women TEND to be better at language...and, also, that women TEND to activate more parts of the brains than men when doing something I don't remember right now.

Agree. I also liked when he laughed because it felt like it came from a nonjudgemntal place. I felt like he was laughing at the choice of words but not in a mean way. It felt light and more about the human condition of foot in mouth which we have all had. Plus Ash kept digging... at that point what else can you do but laugh, the second hand embarrassment became too unbearable.

I’m so happy to see this broken down and validating the fact that this is in fact sexist. I took an interpersonal communication course at my university which is predominantly male and is a military school, and this was the kind of content my professor would teach, and being one of the few girls in this class made it very difficult and confusing to see whether my thoughts that it was false, outdated, and sexist were correct when the whole class largely agreed with the professor.

I took an interpersonal communication class in a community college and it was incredible and totally different to this. It was completely about communicating effectively none of it hinged on gender that I can think of off the top of my head.
That reminds me of the time I studied abroad in a Mexican Catholic school and thought it would be fun to take an ethics class.... The teacher was talking the whole time about how abortion is murder and made us debate whether homosexuals are ethical people. I'm bi so not the most fun class.

I've been having a *really* difficult time during quarantine. Stuck inside with my 6 kids (I'm a single mom), not being able to see my therapist. Etc. I was recommended one of your videos and almost didn't watch because I don't watch reality TV so why would I care about someone talking about it? Well, I thought- hey a third party, professional viewing of reality TV? That could be interesting.
I ended up watching your entire Love is Blind series and felt so inspired by your commentary. I've taken notes and thought about my past relationship with my ex differently. I've been working really hard on myself and your videos have been the fuel to keep me going. I was so depressed and hopeless and your videos have given me a connection to a level of hope I couldn't find on my own. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just wanted to add that most therapists offer services online called telehealth, basically like skype or zoom. If your oldest child is able to be in charge of others for an hour, you could ask your therapist if they offer this helpful tool. I know how important mental health is and just wanted you to be aware of this.
As a transgender woman, I was told frequently before I began transitioning that i had a "female mind". But the reality was that a major impetus was my socialization. I found it very difficult to interact with others socially as a man, and the expectations and implications thereof. Once I began transitioning socializing became so much easier and more comfortable for me. As a result I gained what people would consider more traditionally masculine qualities: I was more confident, more outspoken, more determined to have my voice heard. But the reality is that those attributes aren't reserved for men, and my improved confidence stemmed from fulfilling myself as a person.

It is funny how Ash is using Mark Gungor’s Tale of Two Brains on his seminar. Not very original.
He is having a hard time explaining what he is talking about because he got it from somebody else.
This is exactly what I was thinking! I was about to look up the video and comment the same thing
And that was rather a stand-up performance of Gungor than a coaching seminar.
And it was meant as a comedy sketch for married couples to talk about how men and women come into problem solving in a relationship. I've seen it and it's actually pretty funny and you can tell the original guy isn't coming from a sexist point of view more of a this is the socialized jumping off point with a laugh.
@@ck5611 If you ask me Mark Gungor's humour is a way of masking or mitigating the 1950s style sexist attitude he has. His seminar is for Christians who are inherently on the conservative family values end of the spectrum. Humour is subjective of course, but his seminars are still being delivered as marriage advice and his junk science is still being delivered as though it has a basis in reality.
