I bought the 4.0 size back in July. I’ve got it paired with a 7’6” MH Fenwick Elite Inshore. I’ve been catching everything from reds, stripers to 40lb cow nose rays with it on the Chesapeake Bay. I have no complaints so far.
Thanks Dude... I've set this video aside so I can watch it on my television when I get home from work. A perfect way to relax since it's raining here and I was planning on mowing the lawn... 😢
I did watch it yesterday evening and enjoyed every minute. I especially liked the timer you had on the screen to show how long your bait lasted before getting Smoked by a Redfish..! Great idea. While I do not own any 13 Fishing, Rods or Reels, I would not hesitate to buy them. Very good video and sound quality showing an enjoyable day on the water.
No experience with their rods or spinning reels but I’ve got a 13 fishing concept A2 baitcaster that I use for inshore fishing and while it certainly doesn’t feel as solid as my Daiwa stuff it has been going strong for quite some time and casts beautifully. That little reel has brought in a lot of trout and redfish along the gulf coast. I gave it a pair of ceramic boca bearings and I’m pleased with those as well.
My favorite SWFL fishing channel!! Any chance you could go over what you look for in mangroves to throw cut bait? And how long to leave it down there b4 recasting?
These are just my thoughts and experiences with 13Fishing products, so take them for what they are worth. I've been using 13 Fishing rods for around 2 years now, and I absolutely swear by them! I have a lot of inshore setups (5 to be exact). I run both the 7'2 "Omen Green in a Med Fast and the 7'6" Fate Green Med Fast, both equipped with a Battle 2 3000. These 2 are my go to rods now over my Star Sequence setup and my 2 Star Seagis rods all on similar reels. I've brought in everything from over slot Snook, a 4 foot Bonnet-head shark, all the way down to using the same rod for Sheepshead with lots of success no matter the target. Plenty of backbone, as well as plenty of tip sensitivity no matter what you are targeting. Both rods handle incredibly well and I have put them through the paces and have had ZERO failures on them, where I have already had to send back 2 Star rods in the past year. I was disappointed when I saw 13 discontinued both my lines, but I do look forward to the next iteration of rods. I eluded to that I cant speak for the 13 warranty process as fortunately I have had no need to utilize it, which is a big plus and ultimately a good thing! So by all means please keep the feedback coming on the new line of rods as I am really hoping that it is on par with the older models.
Try a high end rod and see and feel the difference compared to the rods you listed. Makes fishing more enjoyable. I use to use rods in the omen and star rods price point ( low end maybe pushing beginning of mid range ) when I was younger but started using St Croix , Shimano , bull bay rods and man it's such a night and day difference
@@SeeYaDudedead on. I actually prefer it like a mid high going out because still fish the trees for a little but pushes them out into pockets and pot holes. Groups them up alot more
Hey Dude, Do you think the reds would still be around at the end of Oct? I’m east coast based so used to what’s happening over here but new to the west side. Great vid and info, I only use 3 setups, 3000 on a med action, 4000 on a med/hvy, my custom 7’4” snook/tarpon with a 5000 on it. Any info on the Sarasota/Tampa ares to try from shore/wading would be appreciated. Keep Them Rods Bent!
The reds are always in the area year round, but how you target them changes. They seem to really like oyster bars and docks when the water gets a little cooler, but you can still pull some out of mangroves year round
13 fishing is a low end / googan type company from what I've picked up in store and heard from others. I'm with you on the Shimano reels 🔥💪🏽. I use bull bay rods with them
@artificialslinger9730 most definitely, man!! That gear isn't anything special. I know people don't drop big cash on Stella's, but that's all I use. I only have 2 setups. The 4K Stella FK and my 14K Stella SW on a JDM Ocea Flex Drive. Both setups are very precise. What do u have?
Good stuff. Question. What brand of circle hooks are you using? I do not have good luck setting the hook with what I use. I have to remember to just reel. You appear to be actually setting the hook. Thanks,
I’ve found myself pretty much using exclusively Owner circle hooks after trying a bunch of different brands. I do like trokar for tarpon, but pretty much owner for everything else
@@SeeYaDude Thanks, I use Owner also. Normally I fish from shore and set out a bigger pole in a rod holder for redfish with either a live croaker, pinfish or cut bait with a circle hook. Drag a lil loose. Most times the fish will get hooked before I even take the rod out of the holder. The times I use a circle hook while holding the rod I usually miss fish when I forget to just reel. Great video. Got to give you your props, you got the casting into the mangroves down. Tight lines.
Never buyin a 13 rod again. Spent over 300 on a rod it broke on a tiny fish. They replaced it and the replacement broke on a 2lber. Reels are solid... but i cant trust those rods again
Ive seen the 13Fishing reels, not impressed and not EVER giving them that much money for a reel that I can buy equal to or better for less from Penn, Shimano, or Daiwa.
All I’ve used for years is Penn Spinfishers and slammers and Daiwa ballistics. I bought this reel in the 4.0 size and I love it. It’s a tough lightweight reel. I was skeptical at first about it, glad I bought one.
@@artificialslinger9730 4 months. Used it almost every day. It’s a solid reel. It doesn’t feel like 12.5 oz. I have it on a 7’6” MH Fenwick Elite Inshore. Out of all my inshore set ups it’s about the lightest. My 2 other set ups one is a spinfisher 3500 and 3500 slammer. This reel is the only 13 fishing product I own.

The mullet jumping behind you at 12:37 😂

I received my See Ya Dude T-shirt in the mail today. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Love the videos. What type of tide movement is best when fishing the magroves. High outgoing or top of incoming?
I’ve always preferred the high outgoing

I loved watching this, because the currents have been so strong that I haven't gotten out in a week.

Solid reel. I have the 2.0 or 3.0. Love it.

try tying a loopknot when using artificial. Works way better!
It looks great.. I need one!!! But if it gets a scratch I might loose my mind!! Is it SCRATCH PROOF!! With that black finish it’s too good to be true…
What line are you using?
