Their web site shows only mid-size platforms & for Tacomas. Was hoping they’d offer something for Ram 1500 or Ford F-150, as those are the truck choices I’ve narrowed.
Dude, every time I see this truck on another youtube channel its gorgeous. Damn yacht on wheels. Cool to see they are Down2Mob fans! When are you guys going camping?
Hands down the best truck camper I've seen and wanted for a few years. Price pt keeps me well out of realistic. I'm not going to live in it and as a luxury expense it doesn't fall within 99% persons finances.

You had me.. until I saw in the comments something about a reference to $350k. No way, no how... Plenty of other 1 ton truck be campers that could be had SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than this and you can still have a built, off-road capable truck that can drive out from under the bed camper and be 100% back to being a truck in a matter of minutes. I love the idea but I just don't know who in their right mind would dump $400K+ into a setup like this with a truck..
Dood, that’s a turnkey camper, hence it’s very expensive. You could replicate it for probably around $150K - $200K by farming out the manufacturing to custom builders one component at a time. The truck would set you back $60K with suspension and gear upgrades. There are a few custom camper builders out there that could build the shell for around $35K - $60K. Add another $30K - $50K for interior, electronics/power Then you’ve got yourself the same setup for half the price or even less. You’d probably want a midsize truck as opposed to a full sized ones because the size would allow you more access when overlanding, especially on those BDRs.
Every truck camper out there is absolute garbage. The interior is an American lazy boy nightmare. This thing is the epitome of high-end feel and touch. To each their own, but let's not confuse what's going on here with a piece of crap disposable truck camper
Very curious on the new dry weight of the vehicle. Assuming the truck is 4wd, that only leaves ~1100lbs plus whatever the weight of the removed truck bed. While that seems like a lot, it's not. And carbon fiber is not a magic anti-grav material. The interior looks very nice and not light as well. If they kept it's wet weight under GVWR that's awesome, but I'm initially skeptical. Also curious on center of gravity. With GVWR it also includes people 1-2min and upto 5max. At 150lbs per person it eats into GVWR very quickly. PS. I'd count as about 1.75 people alone ;-p
@@flatlanded22 nothing can change GVWR in North America. Not adding a supercharger, not boxing your frame, not putting big brakes. Ask the outfitter companies (ambulance builders, work truck builders, etc). I'd like to see a cat-scale weight proof of dry and wet mass. I highly doubt this to comply to the GVWR.
@@windex23 One CAN change GVWR, at least here in PA, and I suspect other states have similar provisions. See PA DMV MV-1005, "Request For Optional Registration at a Weight Exceeding the GVWR", www.dot.state.pa.us/public/dvspubsforms/BMV/BMV%20Forms/mv-1005.pdf
Being a Toyota guy, this is beautiful indeed, great episode to watch. That 278 HP engine is not very strong tho, so i bet it is a slug burn up the hill
crucial question for me: the narrow space between bathroom and fridges: is that space dedicated to systems or can it be converted into a full length, slide-out pantry?
Would like to read your thoughts on the TacoZilla concept Tacoma camper made by Toyota recently. In the video it seems like they are still in development but I would like to encourage anyone to reach out to they. They have mentioned in videos that want to try it out for camping.
350k?? Wow, that’s nuts! We are now in a recession and will possibly be in a depression in the next year or so. Just wait a year or so and that thing will be on clearance 90% off.
@Chris, [nine months later, April 2023] Everything doubled in price because the money supply was inflated by Federal Reserve Bankers running the printers around the clock. That '350' is closer to 700 these days... just to keep up with inflation. . If Federal Reserve Bankers get their way, we will need wheelbarrows of fedbux to buy a dozen eggs. But why would farmers trade valuable food for worthless fedbux.
@@largemarge1603 it’s the velocity of money that causes inflation. Last year or so the fed is doing quantitative tightening, meaning they are sucking the cash out from the markets. With gas prices as they are, I'd imagine a smaller engine could be a blessing haha. I feel like these guys have a pretty good balance on weight though compared to the other slide ins out there.
ok i am a newbie and love adventure, is this truck coming with manual transmission and rear locking diffenrential? and what is the average MPG ? and where can i get one? and for how much? thanks in advance for your reply and nice work man! You rock!
This IS the rig! But...I'm short about $150,000.00. I'm guessing that this rig goes for about that.
