I found a box turtle laying her eggs on the side of a hill where water rushes down during the rain. Today it rained and washed a good bit of the dirt away. Should I dig them up and put them in a clear container on my back porch til they hatch? I’m sure they are going to wash away well before they hatch.
So I have two red ears sliders and as I was cleaning the tank I found 3 cracked eggs and 1 fully intact and hard but I don't have dirt or sand will I be able to save it. Or what should I look for if it happens again I don't want my babies to lose their babies 😢
With eggs, keep them like u found them don’t turn upside down. I put mine in coco coir but u can use vermiculite…keep moist not wet,, mist it,,,keep in a warm place(bathroom) and don’t let them get moved around. About 60 days out…👍🏻😁
Help! Digging in the garden I found a nest of turtle eggs. We remember a turtle laying about the end of May. I accidentally cracked open one so I put the egg with baby turtle in a small bucket with dirt. He came out of the rest of the shell on its own. What should I do now please??
I mist mine and keep them in the bathroom where it’s warmer with high humidity and I have houseplants in there also. Just keep them like mom laid them. Put a dot on top if that helps. Best wishes!
Hey, I'm a new turtle mom. I have red sliders I'm trying to find out at what age can they first began laying eggs. Can you help? I'm googling like crazy but it's not very helpful.
How do you make the indoor turtles not have the house smell so turtle like lol. Sounds dumb but I have a marsh terrapin and a brand new canister filter 2x more than the size of his 60 gallon breeder tank and it still makes the house smell aquatic 🤷♀️ any tips
try using a bubbler, depending on how bad it is it can help, also do more water changes and clean your filters often and make sure you have plenty of flow so no waste settles.
Frequent water changes a running carbon in your filter will help. My nose let's me know when I need to do water changes on my 3 enclosures totalling 300+ gallons. Color of the water is also a good indicator.
I would be surprised if that egg in the cottage cheese container you partially uncovered is viable. Looked like a slug to me. I can't wait to see eggs on my end!
Would this be the same process for a Cumberland slider? Mine have been laying eggs on the regular and finally have a pond big enough for youngsters lol
My kids found a turtle out it in a kids swimming pool that was empty and there’s an egg in there. What do I feed them how do I take care of the egg so it doesn’t die? Thank you
I know kinda off topic, but do u know if pothos are safe for turtles? Im thinking about puting some in my turtle tank, but my lovely "lttle" turtle eats everything he can. Thanks for the answer man.
My understanding is pothos might be bad. It's not so bad that it'll kill your turtle, but from what I've read it's probably unhealthy. I've read conflicting reports on people's success with it. I'd say it's fine if you're confident that your turtle isn't going to eat a whole lot of it
I wouldn’t use it bc they’re so small ..dollar weed is good…ferns, moss from outside..just mist it…elephant ears, sweet potatoe vines r harmless and my rabbits eat them…
@@DanTheTurtleMan_ like it or not, I have a roll in the garage for emergencies...like if I need to patch a hole in the tub while I'm taking a bubble bath...lol
I’m kinda confused first you was taking the dirt out then we don’t see nothing and then I’ll send you show us some eggs I wanted to see the whole thing I wish you do a better video please
Thanks for watching! New videos weekdays at 5pmEST!

Whats a good way to moisten the vermiculite during the incubation process? First time and scared to do anything around the eggs

Hey Dan how can I order a baby turtle safly in Canada?
Thx u cuz my brother turtle have one egg but it died when it was floating 😢
Temprature should be 28 degree? And the heater would be.. on for 24hr or whaat
With the cap on can they still breathe
That was a LIGHT feeding?!

You should have used flex tape for the hole in the bottom of the container so the inside will be completely dry 🙃
I cannot express how much I dislike flex tape 🤣🤣😭😭
