  • While still on Engine 6 of the New Haven Fire Department, we respond to a kitchen fire at 155 Fitch Street. We had been coming from a call of a transformer explosion which had occurred due to the heavy rain that had fallen that day (that call didn't turn up much of anything). Engine 6 ended up arriving on scene at the same time as the first due engine, which was Engine 15, due to our proximity to the call. The call here ended up not resulting in anything. There was a small grease fire on the stove in a kitchen, which made it seem worse than it actually was. One line was stretched, but wasn't used or charged. We also see Engine 9, Car 34, and Truck 4 on scene. Enjoy the response, as well as the sight of all the different rigs. Engine 6 is a 2000 Pierce Quantum. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on June 21st, 2015.

Gotta love those white rigs! I believe Quincy MA operated with white apparatus as did Milton MA. Love the Q too! Real fire trucks have a Federal Q.

The city painted them white during WW2 to make them more visible during the blackouts on city streets. White is the most visible color at night. After the war ended the city kept the paint scheme.

@ABMP4D3 had a friend on back in the 80s. Mike Pope. Lost track of him some years ago.

Grease fires are one thing to deal with. Just use simple baking soda. House fires are a major issue. Also cool vid man

It looks like none of the men on the truck have seat belts on. Some fire depts have it so they cannot drive off until everyone buckled
