My friends and I love to Ice Fish at Cascade. We're truly blessed to have this fishery here for us and others to enjoy. I can't tell you how excited I was to see In Depth Out Doors do a show on my favorite fishing spot. What a thrill this was to watch.
Good vid! Boise here, so had to correct the comment about perch being the apex predator (fish) in Cascade Reservoir -- even decent ones are bait there. Coho Salmon, Channel Catfish & Tiger Muskie are in those waters.
I put a friend of mine onto Cascade Lake ice fishing for Jumbo Perch after watching this video. My friend went to Cascade Lake during the 2018, 2019 Ice Fishing Season. They easily limited out on these Jumbo Perch! This 2019, 2020 season is a disaster if you think you're going to try this lake! 2 weeks ago this lake had 4 foot of snow on it, and was impossible to fish!
Wow I have caught a few 14 inch perch, but those dwarf anything I have ever seen, almost like something you would see from some where like Europe. Thanks for sharing and showing the bite love the show each week
Wow nice fish James I'm really liken they way u film ur shows I've seen everyone sense the first season and it's awesome to see what u have done with it sense then GREAT SHOW every week
I love me some perch, and I fished devils lake but wow. Love the show as always. We have had a pretty good perch bite here in the Iowa great lakes this year but not 13+ thinking I will have to plan another trip soon.
Being from Wisconsin we go to Minnesota for big perch, your dnr does a better job at management than ours does. And you guys from Minnesota go to Idaho.
I see a lot of people holding their ice rods from underneath the rod. They say the have better feel. Seems awkward to me and noticed neither of you were doing that. Have you tried it that way or have any insight into that?
When you say, "underneath the rod" what do you mean? Different rod handles can be held differently. If you notice a Tuned Up Custom Rods "Split Grip" handle, you would see how we hold that differently then a simple cork handle. It provides a better feel.
InDepthOutdoorsTV I guess i should add the time i got em in 6" There was a ice dam up at the blue water bridge and it caused the water to drop for a few days down to noting but they were still on. But other than that the water level is always 2-3 feet. (Little Muscamoot Bay) Harsens island in case you guy's are kicking around Mi. best from Feb 1st til ice out. www.timandgina.net/images/raftoff_chart1.jpg
How much ice were you guys sitting on? How is there not a ton of people out there!?!?!? I see shanty city out on Green Bay and they're barely catching anything lol.
I think it was the world record for perch caught on a tipup. The Michigan state record is 21" and well over 3#'s and I believe it's the world record as well.

Another great show guys, just awesome. I love it when you show the fish coming up to strike on the Marcum.
Thanks, guys. Always nice to hear good things about Idaho.
Incredible freakishly huge Perch!!!
What an awesome location to catch giant perch. Mille lacs and Devils lake will never be the same after seeing this. Safe fishing

what can I use for live bait. besides minnows,worms,.. like how about wax worms. or different types of larva... new to fishing love the vids
Live minnows aren't allowed on Cascade. You can use worms or larva.
Love it, keep it up.
incredible
We grow big ones out here.
Absolutely incredible fish. I hope that cascade lake doesn't get fished out.
never will bud. been here 45 years and the perch just keep getting bigger and badder.
Could you take a short cut home through Madison, WI and drop a few of them off at this pond I've heard about in the area? haha Huge perch great video!
I saw Andy at the cascade lake tournament 2016
Idaho is a awesome state take it from me i live there

As all way's great show I can only wish I could get fish that big in Wisconsin.
What areas were they targeting. Breaks, structure, flats, etc.
James, what kind of reels do you use on your tuned up rods
You guys need to take a trip to lake gogebic in early march. Trust me.
I know the guys have talked about Gogebic as a destination. Don't be surprised if they end up there one of these seasons.
bertalie videos
Where I live that's fishing up there! Lol
INSANE
as far as i can tell they only make one size of UL rippin rap? if they make different sizes where can i check them out/buy them
Nice
What Marcum was Andy using?
WOW...
What do you guys use to keep your reels attached to your tucr rods?
Electrical tape.
What rod and rod lengths were they using.
I see a lot of people holding their ice rods from underneath the rod. They say the have better feel. Seems awkward to me and noticed neither of you were doing that. Have you tried it that way or have any insight into that?

Actually I see in ice fishing videos they hold them basically by the reel.
I get em like this on Lake St Clair in Michigan, But Believe it or not im catching them in, Now wait for it, in 6"" to 3 feet of water
They some time hit the tip ups to,Just some great fishing.
We believe it! That is awesome!

Jerry Dee I'm 16 and it's going to be my first year ice fishing with my own gear and stuff on lake st Clair! I only live 15 minutes from st Clair :D
what length rods are the tucrs?
My biggest perch was a 2 and a half pounder on lake simcoe
How much ice were you guys sitting on? How is there not a ton of people out there!?!?!? I see shanty city out on Green Bay and they're barely catching anything lol.
There will be people out there now!
Sconie
Cascade is a small town there isn't near as many people as in green bay
but with catching perch like that i would guess people would be on that lake like flies on shit just like green bay
i cought a 6 pound perch in a lake using lob worms
Picture's or i didn't happen.
1:53 white bird hill
I don't find it too big of an issue to keep a perch those big...
Ha ha. The Rocky mountains. I don't think so.
you let go a 2 pound perch
i don't think i could ever let go a perch that big
If I'm not mistaken didn't a 12 year old girl land the new world record perch on this lake???
I think it was the world record for perch caught on a tipup. The Michigan state record is 21" and well over 3#'s and I believe it's the world record as well.
Lol they are freaking watermelons
oi
Makes me laugh talking like a 16" perch is avg there when it is far from avg.. avg is 12 to 13" on tape.
+Jeremy Peace They state the avg 12-14 is not a "big" one making the 16" the big one. Whats to laugh at when you cant pay attention lol
