Spring Prune For "Miss Violet" Butterfly Bush (Buddleia), Dead Or Alive - April 30

This is a dwarf version of the Butterfly Bush and will not self seed (non-invasive). Blooms on new wood, best time to prune is in Spring. Last winter, I kept it close to the house. It budded early February but all has been killed by the unexpected cold in February and March. Now I am not sure if it is still alive but pruning it back, in case it is. I want it to sprout lower down.
