I really appreciate how you take the time to think about helpful things that can get everyone thinking about things we may not consider. Really inspires me to do the same on my channel, or at least try!

    I've been an esthetician and makeup artist for over 15 years and I ALWAYS recommend CeraVe moisturizing cream. It is great stuff for all skin types. You can use it everywhere it's very gentle but effective. It works so well and it's not really thick. Once you use it you'll always prefer it. You pay like $15 bucks for a huge tub and really lasts a long time.

      It's really a bummer that it has Cetareth-20 and Cetearyl Alcohol in it though. That is an ingredient that breaks me the hell out. It's a good moisturizer but if you have skin that breaks out easily this might be a pass for you.
      Edit* And obviously that's when used as a facial moisturizer. For body use, its great.

    • @feliciamarietorre3562
      @feliciamarietorre3562 7 років тому +1

      Brittany Fisk that's strange. I really haven't seen that problem with my clients. It contains ceramides, a naturally occurring components of the skin and helps in enhancing and restoring the skin's protective function against the elements ie free radicals.

    • @viviyellow
      @viviyellow 7 років тому +6

      From what I understand Cetearth-20 is a fatty alcohol of which is sometimes derived from coconut oil, which I am very sensitive too. Again, it just depends on the person and their own sensitivity. But I have always broke out to anything containing that ingredient. It COULD be another ingredient but I check labels obsessively because there are a lot of comedogenic ingredients out there and I break out to a lot of them.

    I use the Nivea cold cream (in the blue tin) for my face - I am extremely dry. I've used this since I was 3 and I'm 44 now. It's an awesome product. I think it's just about comparable to the CeraVe.

    • @marymvc
      @marymvc 7 років тому

      I use this under my nose on my lips and hands in the fall and winter. It's awesome. I don't think it's cold cream though. It doesn't cleanse, does it? I thought cold cream you wipe or rinse off and it tingles. This stuff is blend of mineral oil, Vaseline, glycerin, and wax. Its better if you buy it from the UK because it doesn't have alcohol or preservatives. The CeraVe has hyaluronic acid in it. That's the miracle ingredient that Nivea doesn't have.

    • @marymvc
      @marymvc 7 років тому

      I don't put in in an area where I don't get raw and chapped. So I don't know because I don't need it all over my face and I feel I would definitely break out. I just tend to. But it does soak in after about 15 minutes and doesn't feel greasy. It does feel oily at first because it has petroleum in it.

    • @michellekelly2937

      This is not a good cream to consider if you're prone to breakouts. It is too greasy to use as a face cream in my opinion. Read the review on Beautypedia and see what you think. CeraVe is a much better option.

    My dermatologist recommends this too. I never wash my hands without following with this cream. Especially within two minutes getting out of the shower or bath. Lastly, if your dermatologist has given you ointment, I use the Cerave cream first then the prescribed ointment with his suggestion. The medicine works better when your skin is softer. Emily, thanks for all the extra ideas and tips.

    My absolute favorite lip balm is Yes To Coconuts. Even my husband said "wow, this is amazing!" The line is in drugstores, but I've found the lip balm only in Walmart and Ulta. It's feels so wonderful when you put it on.
    Also, I use a CPAP for sleep, and it made my lips super dry and cracked at first. My dermatologist recommended petroleum jelly and I use Eucerin. The problem was fixed overnight.

    My heart is happy you mentioned a freeman mask! They make some pretty great ones. I've been using the mud mask for YEARS (at least 4-5) and I've tried some of the other masks in those travel sizes. The banana oat one is delightful (unless you're REALLY sensitive to scents. I personally loved it because it was like a banana smoothie mmmm.), the dead sea minerals one was really nice acting like a mud mask and brightening. It's only a bonus you look like a smurf or blueberry. Also I swear if I could track down a full size of that sleeping mask I'd buy it. No luck in stores, but I know they have a website where you can find the full sized ones and the travel sized ones.

    That CeraVe cream has worked WONDERS on mine and my toddler sons patchy eczema - I have never found a cream work like that in my life! And I like how it doesn't have a fragrance or a chemically odor to it - so many creams and lotions have that underlying stink to them and I hate that!

    I love those e.l.f. lip scrub sticks, too! The one down size I notice with these is that there are "globs" of product that are left on the tip of the stick from natural body heat melting the tip. If I put the stick in the refrigerator when I'm not using it, there aren't any more "globs"!

    I use Cerave alot as a night cream. It truly to me (i used it solely for years) is just as good as any other high end brand. I prefer that tub over the Cetaphil tub one. If you read the ingredients on it, they differ very little to most high end brands and the cost is about 1/6th.

Persa-gel can be very drying, but a little Nivea cream takes care of that. I'm sure diet plays a part also. So I drink lots of water, eat lots of greens, etc., and really try to avoid sugar. Oh my goodness that Freeman Diamond Mineral Rinse Mask is the best stuff ever!!! I use it a couple times a week and it is one product that has made such an incredible difference in my skin. I love it. I am actually making my mom a beauty pampering basket for Christmas and that is most definitely going in it.

    Yep! Clean & Clear Persagel is incredible. Yesterday an under the skin pimple popped up on my chin. I put the Persagel on it and it's 95% gone. You can find the Hard Candy Mist on Amazon, but I hate that it's more that you would pay at say Walmart. Right now it's 13.84 USD with Prime.

    My all time favorite product is Mary Kay extra emollient night cream. My mom used it for so many things when I was young. I fell outta a tree and face planted on asphalt...that healed it...so scars...and a jar lasts like 20 years...just recently repurchased for my mom. Even my fiance loves it.

    That Diamond mask is now in full size on the Freeman website! I've been keeping an eye ever since you mentioned this mask way back when, and instantly thought of you.

    I love Cerave! Its a new favorite but I'm testing out the brand and its so great - makes a difference but is so gentle!
    I've heard a lot of people love the persa gel, I've struggled with acne forever and benzoyl peroxide irritates me so badly, the clean & clear acne spot treatment is a great salicylic acid treatment that works quickly too, but is gentler.

    That lip color was made for you! Also, I agree about the Cerave cream as a spot treatment. Amazing. Great video. 😬

    Loving your random thought in the description box. And yes. Today I went to a buddhist centre for the first time in my life in order to clear my head. And right after your video I will watch some episodes of "The Good Wife".

      D Smith I really like the Tarte Lip Facial and everything is 30% off right now. I haven't had any issues with it crumbling like Emily mentioned. I apply and then massage it on my lips with my finger. ( I'd do a bit of YT research on Jeffree Star before supporting his line).
