- No Cyrus this week, but Devan and I jump feet first into discussing CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON.
We recall how we thought the film was more complicated than it is, we gush over the incredible fight choreography and ask, "Is the flashback jarring?" We also take a swing at the film's themes, including heroicism versus villainy, the petulence of Jen and the overall focus on love and romance.
Later, we answer listener questions, have a surprise cameo from long-time listener, Ramma, and Devan sings us a ditty. Enjoy!

Lance Henrickson’s gun in Hard Target makes sense when you remember that it’s for hunting. It was never meant for a fire fight. He’s so confident in his skill that he only needs one shot to bring down his target.
That’s a very good point. I hope he had a backup weapon though.

The Magnificent Butcher that low? How dare you!
The actor who played Master Bo was arrested in the mid-2000s for operating a brothel out of his wushu school in NYC.
And I was always of the opinion that the inspector's daughter called in Master Bo for a booty call.
Oh damn, I did not know that! That’s crazy. And yes! You think the same way as me!
THAT'S A ME!
Re: someone from China thinking an American was doing a fine British accent when it was really trash - man, I've had Germans mistake me for actually British when I'm from freakin' Manitoba. I think unless you speak the other language you don't have much hope of even identifying an accent, never mind assessing it.
I’ve been mistaken for both South African AND France! I think you’re absolutely right. I’m sure all English blends together for some people.
remember a good kool keith track on that prince paul album
Bonkers lyrics on that one. “Weapon World.”
