Thanks Adam for all the fantastic content you put out educating Canadians on Financial Literacy. I was wondering if you could make a video on the topic of proper beneficiary designations for RRSP and RRIF accounts. I know you did a couple for TFSA's and the effect on the estate depending on if you assign your spouse a Beneficiary or a Successor Holder. For RRSPs you can only have Beneficiaries, but for RRIFs you can have Beneficiaries or a Successor Annuitant designation for your spouse. What are the pros and cons for each when it comes to estate planning?
Well, talk about perfect timing Adam! 💯😀Having recently had the initial phone call to start the financial planning program service with you and your team, this has come at an opportune time. I have forwarded this to my younger cousin who lives in Ontario. It will get her started on some basics to consider and give her some food for thought. 🤔Looking forward to working with your Ontario collaborator who will be working with me to come up with an effective tax efficient financial plan. Just love all this planning so one knows where they stand. It will be an interesting journey I am looking forward to, cheers from East Canada🇨🇦👍
I just watched the video on delaying CPP - thank you very much. I'm wondering what the impact of not working for 5 years while deferring CPP does on the calculation of how much you get - do those non-working years count against you in the formula? I'm also wondering about CPP being CPI indexed and deferred payments being wage indexed which caused a big loss for retirees who started their CPP in January 2023 instead of December 2022? Thank you for all the excellent information you provide to us.
