it seems like from some of the french comments here that there is still an implication that she is trans. Specifically with the last 2 lines. I believe it may more accurately translate to
"Vivian : Sorry, Beldam. It's just that I'm happy to be your sister... *finally*
Beldam : There is no "finally". your punishment will be severe!"
Idk, I'm not too certain as I don't know french but this is what I gathered from the comments. I guess we'll get a better idea from the rest of the dialogue hopefully

@@msGooble While it can mean "finally", in this context "enfin" means that Vivian is trying to explain herself, another translation would be "i mean...". French is my first language so you can trust me.

Bon, hé bien visiblement, toute mention sur le fait que Viviane est transgenre est retirée dans le remake. Quoique, je dirais plutôt qu'elle est mentionnée de manière bien moins directe, vu que Viviane dit que ça lui aurait fait plaisir d'être "la soeur de Marjolène". Afin probablement de faire le parallèle avec le fait que le mot "soeur" ne fait pas assez maléfique pour le chef de la bande et le fait que Viviane est secrètement transgenre (le mot "enfin" à la fin de son dialogue, laisse peu de doutes à ce sujet)
Cependant, est-ce que cette nouvelle version des dialogues de la petite fille d'ombre passera aux yeux des joueurs ? (anciens et nouveaux)
Ou est-ce que ça va créer encore une nouvelle polémique, ce qui poussera à Nintendo à proposer une mise à jour qui remettra les dialogues d'origine ? (ou alors, au moins quelque chose de bien plus similaire au jeu original)
L'avenir nous le dira. On s'approche de plus en plus de la sortie du remake ! (mais pour mentionner un point où tout le monde sera d'accord : la voix de Viviane est trop adorable ! 😍)
Franchement je susi trans et jsp quiu en pensé, d'un côté ca se veut moin transphobe mais de lautre cest plus ambiguë et traduit n'importe comment (traduit de la version anglaise qui deso mais pue la merde en comparaison surtout que on traduit pas un jeu sur la version américaine mdrr)
Dans l'original Viviane est un garçon je sais pas ou tu vois la mention de transgenre retirée elle n'a jamais été là, et dans la version japonaise originale Viviane est un otokonoko aka femboy/crossdressing.
C'est juste magnifique ce jeu ,on voit un monde fait entièrement de papier c'est trop beau 👍👍👍

After listening to the song in question, I say they sound kind of similar like you said, however their vocal range and tone are much different. Olivia's is more upbeat and energetic while Vivian's is soft and gentle.

I don't speak French, but from what I could gather from the dialogue, Vivian said the Shadow Sirens and Beldam corrects her saying they're the Shadow Trio instead. Idk what she says after that, something about how the term "Siren" doesn't fit Vivian. Sirens are referred to in Greek Mythology as creatures who are half bird half WOMAN, not half human, meaning sirens are pretty much always women. I don't get how people are saying Vivian is being "de-transed." I think they're just being a little more subtle about it instead of having Beldam straight up call Vivian a man like in the Japanese version.
No it's not siren, just sister and beldam says "it's not mysterious and menacing", nothing like the original french dialogue where she clearly states "you are a BOY"

@@thomario3857 Oh, is that what it translates to? Thanks for clearing that up. I do find it interesting how Beldam refuses to refer to Vivian as her sister. There’s some dialogue from the English version I saw on Twitter where she says something like “The Shadow [RELATION NOT VALID]” I don’t remember exactly what it said. I’m still sticking with my theory on how they’re being more subtle about the whole Vivian being trans thing. Because I know there’s certain people who just looove to complain about lgbt “propaganda” as they call it being shoved in their faces.
@@natertater301 Yeah, i really hope it's just that and not complete erasure of the themes of gender identity since i grew up with the original french version and learned about it from Vivian's story.
i see people, english and french-speaking alike, saying vivian has been "de-transed" because of the change of dialogue, but i don't really see it that way. here, vivian says something that wasn't in the OG game: "it's just that i'm happy to be your sister... i mean..." it feels like a pretty strange and specific thing to say, doesn't it? the subtext might still be here (and if it is, it'd mean that at this point, beldam's already acknowledged vivian's identity), just more subtle. i don't know, it might be far-fetched. we'll have to see the full game to find out, although localization will probably be different again depending on the countries.
Maybe they might be removing Beldam's transphobia but keep Vivians identity. Maybe I'm just taking copium
Waaaaait, doesn't Beldam *also* go so far as to say "no relation"? Perhaps Beldam's transphobia is more subtle by denying Vivian not only her identity as sister but also as family... which is an uncomfortable reality many deal with...
@@RockmariomkiZX you're confusing it with another localization, i think. in this french preview, at the very least, beldam says nothing about their relation. she pretty much just tells vivian not to add "sisters" to their title because "it doesn't sound mysterious and scary enough" and that she's gonna be punished for it
AAAAANNNNNNDDDDD Beldam's line calling Vivian a boy in the original version on gamecube is now censored in french too... My dissapointment is equal to the to my non surprise... So high that if the was a temperature, mercury would be breaking out of the thermometer.
Edit: Ok, a line of dialogue has been revealed yesterday about Vivian calling herself trans (more or less) in english and I just realized by comapring a screenshot found on tweeter of this boggly woods scene that the dialogue is the same... So hoping for trans vivian in french too.
