The lack of low-down torque is actualy nice. Makes riding through towns easier while not making too much noise. Got mine 2 years ago, very happy with it. The only addition is a wind-deflector for motorway journeys. It also needs a wash...
sorry for necroposting in advance oh its not just me who finds it comfy. I rode a Z750 while my 600f was in the shop. My ass hurt after a ride. Was happy to have my Honda back after 3 days.
I've got the 2009 version, which replaced my 2005 one seven years ago, and I just love the bike. No idea why Honda stopped with the Hornet and replaced it with the new thing. The Hornet will do whatever you want it to do, it's laid back enough to commute, quick enough for a fun weekend ride and strap a set of oxford panniers to the rear hand holds and you can tour with it.
Thanks for this review, really appreciate the way you did it. Letting the bike speak for itself and no annoying music. Now to see if Seat Concepts do a seat kit for it, if they do then I am sold on this bike. Once again, thank you
Yes, correct. I've also tried the Hornet when I was searching for my bike, but the Italian (Monster) became the one for me :). Torque in the lower range but not much power: ideal for beginners and it has better music from the stock exhaust. But the Hornet is a good bike as you have written. Good vid!
MyRandomLife247 Thanks! As long as you don't expect a lot of grunt low in the rev range, you won't be disappointed by the Hornet! Had one myself for 2,5 years as my first bike and it never gave me any worries. Very solid bike.
I'm 54 and. Have been riding since 5 or so years old.for me this is the perfect bike only needing a great wind screen and some personal touches.i stepped down from litres bikes 20 years ago or so as I found the big bikes were ridiculous on public roads and totally un necessary.a 600 requires a better skill set to ride quickly and smoothly anyway.all though I would seriously consider a 919 in USA or Hornet 900 abroad just for a great starting point and that shweet engine
WOW ! You did a great job, thank you very much for this video ! That's a really good review : motor sound, good explanations... :) I need this bike more than ever ! :D
1:59 I loved your video but.... WTF? Hey I'm a trucker across the pond. How 'bout a little love. We bring you everything even that wonderful bike you're on.
I just subscribed. Nice review. I am interesting in the 2012 model. What is like to ride this bike around 3.000 or 4.000 rpm? It is OK, or do you have a feelin that you seriously have to downshift? Vibrations. Did you notice them and how heavy they were. I am 186cm and I think this bike should be OK. My second option is Suzuki SV650, brand new. I am confused between this two. My previous bike was Cagiva Canyon 500, single cylinder. Which one would you buy? Thanks.
Throughout the video you can hear a sound that seems to change according to the driven speed. This is especially noticable at around 4:00. What is this sound? I'm talking about the "whoosing" and "flopping" sound.
So you tell this is a beginner friendly bike... For now I was only a car driver (Honda CRX), but I'm thinking now to buy a bike. I've watched some videos in youtube and videos of Honda Hornet and I kinda like this model. I'm don't want the bike to make stupid things (like some bikerZ do) ..drive crazy fast in town or everywhere or race other bikes/cars - nope, i'm not interested in that at all. I just want to have some "fun", to be able to drive from point A to point B ..or just drive for fun as I said - not for racing. But still it'll be good to know that the power is in "stand by" if I need it and from what I've learned for this bike it's something like "all in 1" type (I know it's naked bike), but it's good for long distance driving, city bike, have some power if u need it.. but u can cruise in normal speed most times without problem? I have driven only 50cc scooter which.. lets be honest - this is not a bike.. so i'm 100% beginner. And my height is 168 cm. (or 5.6" ft.) will I have problems with that? Thanks!
+todor92 Hi todor92, thanks for watching my review! The Hornet is exactly like you put it: kind of good at everything, from slow city traffic to fast, sporty riding. The best thing for beginners is that the bottom end of the rev range is quite 'safe', there isn't too much power or torque available there. But rev it up and all hell breaks loose :) So if you just keep the revs low, you won't be scared at all as a beginner. I don't think your height will be an issue, unless you have very short legs. I'm 171 cm and it was fine for me (could get one foot flat on the ground, but not two like on my Ducati). I would recommend to try one out, even if it's just sitting on it to get a feel. Have fun and ride safely!
Hi, i have just one question. I am 193 cm and 98kg. I woud like to buy this bike, but will it fit me good? Or shell i find something bigger that Hornet? Thx for ur answer. Nice Review.
HI+Vladislav Gorbunov, i'm 194 cm/ 88kg and this machine perfectly suits me. Bought it a year ago , can't get enough of it still. Think the RIDR is right in every point.
I changed the front fork springs to Wilbers progressive ones and the rear shock absorber to an adjustable from the same company. Great for touring with passanger and top+side cases. I will put a gear indicator and might be an up-only quick sifter. There are more comfy bikes but I had so many unforgettable rides with my Hornet... I just can't sell my beauty drive.google.com/file/d/18lqO_GksUC3v76_8MiRmxkoqZ6s33CUh/view?usp=drivesdk
Genuine and I mean genuine question im a “big” guy 5’11 over 110kg and i ride a honda pcx 125 but will i get the “speed rush” if i buy this bike ? Im currently taking the lessons so im pretty new but i want a solid bike that its forgiving plus genuinely fast . Is this recommended? I live on an island so i dont have a lot of highways but i need a “high” acceleration first big bike . Any thoughts about this please ? Plus my insurance is maxed at the same bhp as this bike (100bhp) . Thanks for your help guys ❤
My dad has one and in one year from now perhaps I'm gone ride it. Th fuel consumption isn't 5 l/ 100kmh, it's 6-6,5 and if you are a speedy guy sometimes increases more 😉
Yea ive been into supersport and wanted one until i seen a 599/hornet/cb600f on here.. But ive went on all available websites and dealerships but theyre impossible to find.
I am looking to get a bike and I have strongly been considering getting a 2007 hornet 919 found one for 3300 sure the person will go down on the price, but this is my first bike and have no bike experince but drive a manual car and understand how manual transmissions work know that this is not the same as a car but they are simlar concept wise. I am 120 pounds and 5'7 would this be a good first bike, I have read heard these bikes are really really heavy is that true?
+Momo Cruise The Honda 919 is about 220 kg wet, so about 15 kg more than the Hornet 600. It has a lot more torque though, and therefore I would recommend the 600 as a first bike instead. In the end, it's almost as fast (and certainly fast enough). They have the same horsepower more or less, but on the 600 it's safely tucked away high in the rev range, which is better for inexperienced riders imo :)
I have comments, concerns, and a broken heart i want one of these sooooo bad and can't get one in the USA they were.available in 2005 and 2006 carbureted if i could import one it would be the lastest model cb600 in S trim with the fairing! What do i have to do to get one??
+crohooligan I think this bike will be a bit small for you, but there's only one way to find out! I would recommend sitting on one if you can, it will soon become clear. A friend of mine who is about your size used to ride a Honda CBF600 and then a Hornet 900, so it is definitely possible, but he's glad he's moved on to a much taller BMW GS now :)
Nice video, I'm a beginner motorcyclist, am small 166cm end my first bike at age 45, so which bike of this equation is right for me? I drive daily to work in the city and also the highway and sometimes during a weekend round of recreational so, which one? which one is better 2 or 4 cylinders Suzuki Gladius or Kawasaki ER6N or Honda cb600 f , Any way great video
