I have a challenger scat pack that I have run at a few track days. When I got to a new circuit I asked an instructor to ride with me to help figure out the track quickly. The instructor was actually white knuckled, in a good way, and said he couldn’t believe how well my big old boat was handling on the track and really couldn’t give me any advice to go any faster. I definitely think the right driver and the right setup can at least make the challenger scat pack a decent car on a circuit. @@Tential1 Ha.. I'm glad he wasn't. Ha.. Cars that are really setup for 1/4, especially American cars, are really just terrible for the track... It's not just brakes/tires too, it's the whole package, the front/rear balance as well (I'm American, and hit the track often in the US) Misha was also kind. He doesn't want to be too honest, when people love their own cars so much. He's a nice guy. For a Challenger, A. the front/rear tire size ratio gives way too much grip to the front, vs rear. B. the brake size and likely the master cylinder as well, would need to be larger, and more setup for more frequent braking from high speeds. C. I would bet there's no air flow ducting to the brakes too, from the factory. You don't need it straight line, 1/4.. D. I'll bet the suspension geometry, also doesn't give good camber in squat, and 100%, the rear for a challenger will have no camber change in squat, because that would be terrible for 1/4. This is something that you just can't fix by just giving it more camber. I could go on, but I'll stop there because I can feel my comments won't land well.. They are outstanding sounding cars.. But what makes a car really fast in the 1/4 mile, makes it terrible on a circuit, and visa versa.. and a Challenger, is outstanding in the 1/4 mile.. It needs only a little to be faster in the 1/4 mile, but needs way way more done to it to be good on a circuit.. If somebody does go the length, 100%, it would be very very cool...

I run Pilot Sport 4S tires and they are game changers for grip. I may go to the Cup 2'S next set tho. As for the brakes, he just needs to go back to the stock pads. They are much dirtier, but the brembo pads work fenominally.

What I can appreciate about the challenger and charger is up until now with the EV they have stayed true to their roots and the American muscle roots. They prioritize power and acceleration over handling.
This was entertaining to watch, I drove plenty of these Scatpack Chargers, and a hellcat. They are fast, not really meant to be track cars, but nice to see the characteristics and handling on a track setting! Also in Europe too! LOL! 😆😆 Can't wait till I get mine!!! Great video!
I think misha drove a bit recklessly. He was very lucky in certain situations and it could have bad very easily. It’s the first time driving the owners car as well. Overconfident.
He drove it like he was behind the wheel of a M3 or something. That car, even with all seasons, will handle MUCh better on the Ring than what he showed. He really needs to learn how to drive such a heavy car.
This is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a long time! The owners reactions were priceless! Seems like the driver wasn’t a big fan of the scat pack, but I love these cars. We need a track like the Nurburgring in every state in the United States!
I rented one of these in Colorado that was on the all seasons. Seriously fun car, but needs brakes, stainless lines, tires, springs or possibly coils, and an alignment, but power wise? Wasn't half bad. Intake, set of long tubes headers, a tune and a bit of weight reduction and that chassis would have shined. My biggest gripe was the driving position, no matter how I moved the seat I felt like I was sitting to high. Gripes aside, seriously it was a ton of fun thrashing through the mountains with one.
You can really see dudes trust in the driver grow and grow and grow as the drive progresses. He went from " I'm shitting my pants I'm about to die" to "this is fucking cool"
I love when people put garbage pads on their car to stop brake dust. Brake dust means that your brakes are working, no brake dust means your brakes aren’t doing anything. 🤦🏻
Low dust pads does not mean garbage, for example Endless MX72 is a low dust pad and it works on track very well. I can tell you my brakes are doing ALOT for me. The MX72 is better than the terrible stock pads that my old STI had, those generated a TON of brake dust and the Endless MX72 stops better and generates significantly less brake dust.
@@typerfk8 I’m sorry, with all due respect you do not know what you are talking about if that’s your comment. The only time low dust or no dust means you have brakes is when you have CCBs. Standard steel rotors need highly abrasive high dust pads. Low dust, means there is no material being used as friction to slow the car. Your brakes may work ok, but if you put a high dust, abrasive pad on you will notice incredible increase in performance.
@@joey7253 I don't know what I'm talking about? WHERE ARE YOU VIDEOS OF DRIVING YOUR CAR ON TRACK THEN? I don't see any of that from you. You can see from my track videos that my brakes WORK extremely well and don't even fade. Endless makes some of the best brake pads available in the market. You don't even know that Endless has the best braking system products available. Best fluid (RF650) as well. And NO putting on a high dust pad won't improve anything for me. My brakes work extremely well not just "ok". They already bite hard enough to literally give someone a bruise from the seatbelt if I jam on them real quick and I have steel rotors (AP racing jhooks). Your claim "no material is being used" is BS, my brake pads wear down just like any other brake pad just there is significantly less dust. They are incredible on track and street and they don't cake my wheels in brake dust. I will keep using my MX72s.
Very entertaining lap!!! I have a friend that just sold his scatpac challenger. It had been to Petty Enterprises in Randleman NC USA - left with Magnuson supercharger and 600 WHP. Ran a squared 315 tire setup. That car was a lot of fun! Dodge did a very good job with the transmission programming. The 8 spd is stupid quick in shifts but the car doesn’t handle the tight stuff very well. He went with me to tail of the dragon. I didn’t ride with him as I was driving my C6Z. The two cars are similar is acceleration but that about it.

Do not worry, Pal, we are running with a wide safety margin. Meanwhile, Misha fights physics and sets a new lap record for that car.
Misha is King!
As a 6.4L narrow body owner this was fun to watch. First time on your channel, would like to see a hellcat
Never thought I’d see a Scat-Pack on your channel Misha. I have a Challenger Scat-Pack with the 6-speed manual transmission.
I wish he was driving a challenger.
@@Tential1 Ha.. I'm glad he wasn't. Ha..
Cars that are really setup for 1/4, especially American cars, are really just terrible for the track...
It's not just brakes/tires too, it's the whole package, the front/rear balance as well
(I'm American, and hit the track often in the US)
Misha was also kind.
He doesn't want to be too honest, when people love their own cars so much. He's a nice guy.
For a Challenger,
A. the front/rear tire size ratio gives way too much grip to the front, vs rear.
B. the brake size and likely the master cylinder as well, would need to be larger, and more setup for more frequent braking from high speeds.
@@Leshic2 these cars aren’t meant for handling anything lmaoo even with the “widebody” it’s heavier than the narrow and you still can’t do anything with those tires 😂 spin off the line all day lol but for a straight like they’re ok but against decent competition not really
That Dodge did not want to go around the track but you showed who's boss. Excellent driving Misha!
Passenger thought he was going to die today ☠
Man! This was great… to see you handle this car on poor tire conditions! Damn that was good!!
Looking like an American with those guns Misha 💪
Those are muscles, not fat 😜
@@frog382 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
(I'm a fat American)
Im actually so lucky for him 2 experience that.. for real hes scared but enjoyed it at the same time..
Er wird im nachhinein so glücklich darüber sein
love this car,it will push you to upgrade your driving skill
We have the same red interior….Can’t believe I have Two ScatPacks🐝 🏎💯 They are sooooo much fun!!!!
I loved watching him from "the car can show this and that..." to "pls don't kill me" XD
Awesome showcase how important good tires, for this purpose, are.
and just like that his life is changed forever! Great job Misha
Love the variety of cars you've been driving, Misha. It's a shame Europe didn't get the current gen Mustang GT350...6 speed, 8,250rpm redline V8, and good suspension geometry!
We have some New Shelby's there in Poland. Don't know if they are officialy sold but drive out there, and you can rent one.
Tires! The best upgrade you can ever do hands down!
Feel like the tires really held back any possibility for a solid looking run, it would be even more important because of the cars weight to have some stickier tires.
3:12 "Thats officially not allowed" is the most German thing ive ever heard 😂
Nice to see you driving something a bit wayward man. Great car control. All in a morning's work for you though.
2:23 give this man a gold medal, spread the good word!!!
_"Please don't kill me..."_ - 3/4 of Misha's passengers 🤣
At least he didn't whine the whole way like some do, so props for that 👍
He has a nice setup going for sporty driving (within his speed comfort zone, based on his comments), shame about the brakes and the tyres tho
well, there are plenty of good tyres available and there are companies which will help you with the brakes ;)
I run Pilot Sport 4S tires and they are game changers for grip. I may go to the Cup 2'S next set tho. As for the brakes, he just needs to go back to the stock pads. People hate the brake dust, and there's deffinately a lot of it from stock pads, but when I went ceramic the braking was way off from stock. So I went back to stock. They are much dirtier, but the brembo pads work fenominally.
@@VETTE_Drummer151 What size tyres do you run, and did you ever run Conti Premium Contact 6 in that size? If yes, how do they compare? I haven't had the chance to try PS4S yet and I'm curious...
@@grimmig13 right now I have 305's on all 4 corners. My first set I went from the stock P-Zero's to 295 pilot sport 4S's and recently went to 305/35 ZR20 4S's all the way around. Each time the car got better. Haven't tried the Conti's yet. I think my next set I want to go for the Cup 2's being that I don't drive the car a ton, so I could make that high performance of a tire last longer... fingers crossed lol
Misha you are a beast and my #1 idol on this entire planet much love from Australia
He found the raggedy edge of the cars limit and held it there the entire time
For a stock car on street tires, that was pretty damn good.
Brakes left the chat😂
The owner was so scared but I think he started enjoying it towards the end! What a great video! I would love to see this again with the CORRECT tires on the car!
Hi MiSHA
Woo Hoo.. abit of woopsa-daisy
at the wheel driving the Yank tank around th'Ring...
heh heh 😁 the look on the owners face !
Great for doing drag strip quarter mile runs but
definitely Needs improvements in tyres & brake Performance to make it suitable for the Nurburgrung.
I know you have high esteem for the new Chevy Corvette when you took it for a spin in the track. Be interesting to see what you think of Shmees new Ford GT500 Shelby 'Stang when he brings it to Nurburgrung??
Love Ya Work dude 💕
GODbless & ava Gday 🙂
Awesome driving I love seeing Dodge charger scat packs driven like that it makes me inspired to go to some of the tracks I have in California like Willow springs international raceway
finally, Charger on a track instead of on a highway
Straight line speed like a monster
Handling like a Toyota Sienna
😂😂😂😂
What I can appreciate about the challenger and charger is up until now with the EV they have stayed true to their roots and the American muscle roots. They prioritize power and acceleration over handling.
It would be interesting to see what it would be like with better tyres and brake pads.
That was one floaty lil boat ride! 🤣
Das bot
15:18 the way it flew past that Honda Civic just satisfied tf out out of me
Need to get Misha in a Hellcat (just for the entertainment factor)
Haha yeeesss
People talk shit about the scat pack but it's still a hell of a car and very fun
Misha can whip anything around the track, even this land yacht on all season tires lol
I’m impressed at the handling honestly it took corners better than i thought
My boy was floating down the track in that scat 😂😭
He was definitely prairie doggin the whole ride 🤣😂
The two cars are similar is acceleration but that about it.
very dangerous, i want more
+1 🤘🏼
This was an emotional rollercoaster for Kevin from the start. I loved every moment of it. Thanks to both of you.
Epic. Please keep testing American cars.
Really fun to watch.
I would love to see the car get a set of good breaks and tires and you to go at it again to see what kind of difference it would be. Like really how mutch to really breaks and tires mean. Alot of people dont know until they either experience it or see it for themself.
Got to love Kevin :D Misha " We are weeeell within safety margins " ....... Kevin " Goodbye word!! "
*brakes, *brakes...it's BRAKES man...Come on!🤣🤣🤣
That big girl danced like no other challenger/charger ever has, on god💪
It's because it's that passenger side feeling, your cars seems faster than you're used to compared to when you are the driver
Ride of a life time, awesome video love hearing the hemi open up on the long straights.
Glad to see someone actually driving this car instead of doing just donuts
That was beautiful. Would love to see you drive the demon version on there.
The owner is insane for having that charger with stock tires The Tires they come with it are trash
Car ran great, temperature stayed steady too. Even though they were faster, my C6 and C7 Z06 both got too hot for comfort in traffic and when being pushed.
This video is a hidden gem that took some searching to find.
Haha this guys is telling himself over and over inside his head "Misha knows what he's doing, this is what we came for, just relax, just relax". Fun video, wish he had some sticker tires like some 200 tread wears or dare I say even 100 tread wears. That big V8 sounds great on the straights.
