Ever wonder how much money 40k subs will bring in on UA-cam? I show you how much money UA-cam pays me for my videos. If you are wanting to get monetised on UA-cam, and trying to make a living from UA-cam, I show you how much money I earn from being monetised on UA-cam.

Thanks for watching 😊 Please do check out my new 'Adventure is out there' brand: chris-orange-shop.fourthwall.com/en-gbp/
Well done Chris good for you to dispel all the myths
Thanks! ☺️
Hi Chris! I personally think that you do this 'UA-cam thing' for all the right reasons! It is, as you say, about the community, and about building that. One of the things I've always loved about UA-cam, is precisely what I'm doing now..interracting with the creator or creators of the channel! I think in society in general, we've become so obsessed with how much money we can make from something! Now, obviously when you do something for a living, that's what you need to do, actually make a living, but for the majority of folks it's not about that! It's about getting out there with our cameras and appreciating the great outdoors!
I like the new merchandise by the way!😊
Well said 📷
Thanks for the openness and honesty Chris - not a lot of UA-camrs are prepared to share this kind of info, so thank you for being so frank and honest! I set up my channel for the exact same reasons as you; for the joy of sharing my little adventures that I would be going on anyway. Keep up the great content!
Priceless content. You deserve every penny you get.
Great video Chris. Always good to remind folk that the only way to make money from photography is to get out there, get commissions, make photographs and sell them!
Changing brands is fun!🙂 Fuji apsc to Sony FF now om systems m43. Loving the build quality and size of the om-1mii and pro lenses.
Changing camera brands is an expensive hobby. Since I started shooting 35 years ago, I’ve gone Canon, Nikon, Leica M, Nikon, LUMIX, Olympus, Fujifilm GFX and now back to Leica M.
Every time has cost me but every time I had a reason.
For example, the GFX system was complex to use and very heavy to carry.
I craved simplicity again and settled on the M11 then M11-P. I don’t think I’ll change systems again now. I don’t need anything that the M doesn’t have.
You should shoot what you like and enjoy it.
Nice video Chris. Very transparent. I watch lot of videos of yours and they all helped me in learning things in photography.
Thank you ☺️
I'm going to show this to my 10 year old who is convinced that being a UA-camr is the most lucrative career option out there! 😂
Mine thought the same once too 😂
Great video and always some people have unfounded views about what people make.
A salutary lesson for anyone considering trying to make money from UA-cam.
We are very grateful to you for putting out such great content 😊
So nice of you 😀
I just love your work and the music that you place in the background. It's relaxing therapy and I just want to thank you for your ideas and inspiration.
Thanks so much - really appreciate that!
Keep up the good work Chris and don't listen to the odd muppet trying to put you down
Thanks mate! I’ll try to ignore them 😃
Fair play. A lot of work for virtually nothing.
There’s so many videos out there just like this Chris, that’s nothing against you, it’s against all those that still believe people like yourself, that have a reasonable size channel but not 100K+, are making thousands of pounds on UA-cam. If they don’t believe you all they have to do is watch some of the other videos saying exactly what you are, showing your personal income which I don’t believe anyone, other than yourself and your accountant/wife has a right to see, why should you have to defend yourself.
I have a rather rubbish channel myself, not even 100 Subs, I want to get some video gear to make more videos for UA-cam but it’s simply so expensive, do people realise that one months income of yours from UA-cam may just pay for a new microphone, or something else small that you simply need to do this.
Good Luck Chris, keep up your great work.
Thanks Brian - at least this ensures people don’t get the wrong impression 😃
Haha thanks for this mate you deserve far more than that for sure. Personally I only got monetised last year if yours is a small channel mine is a blip on the screen 2400 subs I earned 9 quid last week so at this stage I’m thinking I’ll keep the day job. I certainly never started YT with hopes of making my fortune but I did start it to keep me occupied and interested I’ve never once thought about packing it in I love the whole process. Thanks for being upfront about the financials I think a lot of small hopeful creators just got a reality check almost a blank cheque too
This is the video I wanted to see, I also love different cameras and would love to try them all, my love for fuji will never die tho
great - thanks for watching!
so interesting to see this 😃
Thanks!
Your main income is from photography, youtube is the odd choccy bar on top... Keep it up Chris!
Cheers! 👏
Spoken as a true 'digital native'. I struggle to use the menu on my single preferred brand! Keep up the great content😊
Thank you! Will do!
Hats off Chris, nicely done
Thanks!
I guess it helps further your channel changing and talking about brands you are using. I find it interesting seeing about the different brands you use and fine tuning the gear that's right for you. For me it's not worth changing brands as I'm with 3 brands already, Canon, Fujifilm and Sony. I'm not a total fan boy of any really, perhaps a nudge to Fujifilm and that's just digital. Don't get me started on my film cameras.. Just keep doing what you're doing.
Thanks mate - I don’t know if it’s good for the channel or not. Not really worried about that as my main reason for switching is always to do with my commercial photography.

People who understand how YT works actually know there's isn't a large amount for smaller channels.
Anyway a nice watch.
I have switched loads of times. But I keep my old gear . I have Hasselblad, Leicas and Nikon film cameras. I also have Nikon, Fuji and Ricoh digital. With improved software, comes better pictures from my old cameras.
Reckon you’ve earned about 4p on this video so far 😂 Great video Chris
4p if I'm lucky!
Liking the merch btw. Look forward to more info on prices etc. I’m a hoodie kind of chap!
I recently made a change, got my fuji x E1 back out. It even inspired me to buy the 50mm f2. I forgot just how good the files on this camera are. The 50mm is no slouch either.
Nice / lovely camera that one!
good video and well done chris 👍
I also enjoy switching gears and brands... I never really understand people getting so crazy about one switching away... as the hobby was actually the tool not what you do with it 🤷🏻♂ and none of those brands would provide such amazing functionalities without competition so... anyway... great video 👍
Exactly!! 👍
Interesting, it seems that it's a lot of work for not much money. But possible good exposure, and definitely building a nice community!
Yep, it’s a lot of work but can be fun too 😀
@@ChrisOrangeagreed the money in my case isn’t even a consideration it costs far more in time gear travel etc etc that it will ever generate but UA-cam for me is a great creative outlet and that’s enough
Sorry for the weird comment, but your glasses are fire! Mind sharing what they are?
Thanks - just basic £50 reading glasses 🤓
For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
I'm glad I watched this before I posted "Saint Chris - the patron saint of GAS" on the other video. (That's a joke btw).
That is becouse subs count doesnt really matter.
Yeah true, but most people are not aware of that. They assume it makes a difference, when it’s really all about view counts
Well "bugger me backwards til my bum bleeds", someone speaking honestly on UA-cam, fantastic, my expectations of you have greatly improved. Well done mucka, and I'll have a look at your merchandise, keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing your vlogs with your new equipment 👍
Thanks mate! Love your comment 😀
the comments on last video were pretty funny lol
👏
👍
40K subscribers is like a far off dream to me.
Don’t worry about all that / if you make videos you enjoy, then that’s the win. That stays the same no matter how big the channel. 😃
@@ChrisOrange Thanks for the reply. At least I know I'm not alone out here.
