My sister was a teacher and, during a Parent - Teacher meeting, she had to tell a mom that her son was failing by not completing nor turning in his assignments. She was worried because a lot of parents blame the teacher. But when my sister said (1) he doesn't listen in class, the mom whomped the head of her son while asking "you don't listen in class?". Then my sister said (2) he never turned in his classwork or homework. WHAP! Mom hit him again, right upside his head. By now, my sister's mouth was open and she was worried about saying the last sentence (3) the student was disrespectful in his language to her. WHAP! WHAP! "You're disrespecting the teacher?" Then the mom looked at my sister and asked for all of the work her son hadn't done. The mom said he would have all of the past work finished in two weeks plus he would be straightening up in class and out from now on. Now, that's a mom I want for a friend!!
My grandmother was meaner than this she would have backhand slapped me. My grandmother was on me as well as my mother and father. I made good grades in school it was just my attitude my grandmother was on me about.
